    Great Product by Terraonion

Posted by Christopher Fleming on Apr 7th 2021

The Terraonion Mode is a great product that performs as described. It works great for my Sega Saturn. The installation of the Mode is fairly easy. I would have considering buying a second one for my Dreamcast however I already had the GDEmu for that system. Overall a great product and purchasing experience.

    Terraonion MODE

Posted by Ryan on Mar 6th 2021

Overall a great product, easy installation in a Dreamcast, plays every game I've thrown at it so far. Combined with a fan mod and my Dreamcast is whisper quiet now instead of a little turbine engine.

TerraOnion MODE - Dreamcast, Saturn, & Playstation

Posted by Anthony King on Feb 10th 2021

What can I say, this nifty little device works as intended. I purchased this for my model 2 Sega Saturn so I could finally play some of the awesome RPG's that have been on hold forever. Games like Shining Force 3, including sceario 2 and 3 play like a charm with this baby. I still have other games like Dragon Force, and Shining the Holy Ark to play through, but so far, no issues have occured. The only hiccup was getting the Shining Force 3 ISO files to play. This was more a format issue in editing the text file to allow playing. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the TerraOnion MODE. Thank you very much :D

    more robust than other options

Using this in a Dreamcast. Love the menu over other options. That said, I do think this is quite expensive for the functionality.

Does Exactly what you want for a price that isn't worth it

Posted by JJIMOB on Dec 11th 2020

MODE is easy to install and easy to set up. The provided instructions are easy to follow . The compatibility I've had so far is great. However, other solutions that do the same thing with the same level of quality come at a far more affordable price point. MODE would be the best ODE solution for Dreamcast/Saturn if it wasn't grossly over priced.

    TerraOnion MODE

Posted by Givenbak on Dec 10th 2020

For the Dreamcast, this is a beginner level hardware install. I have a VA0 model and just had to put two plastic feet on the MODE and then plug it into the GDROM slot. That was it. It works brillantly. The menus are responsive and quick with no interlacing. I love the ease of just throwing my games on a Micro SD and playing. In addition, I only had to solder one wire to get it to work with my DCDigital HDMI board. Now I don't have to get up to reset the console or load a multi-disk. I can do that with some button presses on the controller. This is my top recommendation for Dreamcast fans.

    Cautious "modder" successfully installs MODE

Posted by nearvanaman on Nov 29th 2020

I'm not a Luddite but I get a little anxious when opening up and disassembling technology. Thankfully the instructions are solid (the official YouTube video from TerraOnion was great). The install (Saturn) went without much of a hitch but just a few things to look out for: 1) If you're using a hard drive or SSD, make sure you prep it (format it per instructions, add your folder and any games) before you screw it all in. 2) The plastic stand-off legs that the board sits on need to be 'pinched' in order to remove the board. So, before you stick to the shielding, make sure the pinchable parts of the legs are easily accessible. I had mine facing inwards and it made it difficult to pinch. I had to unstick the legs, reposition and re-stick them. And that was it. I do agree that the menu looks weird (other review here says it's because it is displaying at 480i) and I thought there was something wrong with my cables initially. I'm actually running it through a RetroTINK 2X-Pro. But once the game starts it looks pretty good. Big investment but the lack of soldering really is a boon for those of us who are not proficient.
