    Amazing for my GBA!

Posted by Adam on Sep 19th 2021

I recently bought a brand new in box GBA and wanted to start going through the massive library. The EVERDRIVE XS let me do that very easily. Fantastic product, well worth the money! I am looking at picking one up for my younger brother as he travels a lot for his job and this would be perfect for him!

    Love this thing!

    GBA X5

I have had nothing but good experiences with my X5. The packaging was gorgeous (I got the free deluxe edition upgrade during the promotion) and everything was super easy to get working, just like every other Everdrive I've purchased through Stone Age Gamer.

    teal translucent cartridge

I always used other competitors flash carts for the last 18 years. I decided to pull the trigger on this buy and it is the best. I'm not over selling it. It is worth it if you enjoy playing on original hardware. The only complaint is i wanted the choice of label on the cart. Or at least to buy a spare label.

    Everdrive GBA x5 Mini

Posted by Breadfish on Jul 21st 2021

I picked up the Everdrive GBA x5 Mini as it seemed like the be-all and end-all solution to playing Gameboy Advance backups. It absolutely lives up to the hype. Personally I use it on a Nintendo GameCube's Gameboy Player, with which it has full compatibility, and having all my GBA backups in one place is a great. Then, if I want to travel with my SP, all I need to do is pop out the cart from the GB Player and slam it in the SP and I'm good to go.
The microSD card came pre-formatted with all the softwares I needed to get going, which I wasn't expecting and was a pleasant surprise. Once I added my rom backups I was good to go within mere minutes. Between that, the high build quality of the cartridge, it's GBA consistent form factor and the deluxe edition case, this is a completely fully realized, premium product that I expect to last for years. If you value playing GBA games on authentic hardware, you owe it to yourself to give the Everdrive GBA x5 Mini a look.

After reading about this cartridge and the EZFLASH I found the differences between them led to this device being slow at the cost of having a removeable battery... That being said, I have never had an issue with the device loading slow or being unresponsive to input of any kind like some websites claimed for this device

Overall I wish it had been a little cheaper, but given how easy it is to load games, the fact that it organizes them for you alphabetically, carries save data without corruption, and keeps colors/sound/and sprites true to the actual games
I'm pleased with it. I will be purchasing another everdrive device when I finally pull the trigger on getting a gameboy color or ds again

This product is awesome. It's so convenient to just pop into my SP and play anything I want to.

    Best option for the GBA!

Posted by Chad Nelson on Apr 3rd 2021

This is by far the best GBA flash cart you can buy. After experimenting with a few other options, the Everdrive x5 is easily the most stable and feature-filled. The ability to easily swap out the internal battery is a huge bonus, where some carts make you resolder a newer battery to the board. Also, you don't have to worry about saves getting corrupted if you turn the device off too fast after saving. A focus on reliability and ease of use have produced a device that requires little to no tinkering, and stays out of your way.
