    Works like a charm

Posted by Denton on Jun 16th 2024

Everdrives have always been top quality hardware, and the GBA X5 is no exception. Compatibility is near perfect, and the emulators for other consoles work great. My only gripe is that the firmware doesn`t support 512 byte EEPROM saves, so Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival can`t save without modifying the ROM, but the modifiication is easy enough that I can`t justify docking any points for it.

Overall, a great piece of hardware

A Must Have Cartridge for the Retro Gamer

Posted by E Cubed on Jul 17th 2023

I ordered this as it is tough to find all of the good GB, GBC and GBA games at a decent price. It is also a bit clunky carrying around all of those cartridges. The shipping was super fast even with my order being right before the 4th of July. The setup of the microSD was super easy and adding the games was a breeze. The packaging from Stone Age Gamer was top-shelf. They included a sticker which is one of the better logos out there. I will definitely be ordering future Everdrives from Stone Age Gamer.

Works wonderfully on my stock and modded GBA, GBA SP, and Game Boy Player.

It`s great to have the ultimate GBA experience.

    Top Notch Hardware

Posted by Tyler Atchley on Mar 17th 2023

First off let me say that Stone Age Gamer support and company are both overall very knowledgeable about their products. Now about the Everdrive GBA X5. I bought it as my first purchase from Stone Age Gamer. It was a breeze to set up and a breeze to use. Not to mention that Stone Age Gamer support was very helpful with all my questions and concerns about using and setting the device up. I would one hundred percent recommend using Stone Age Gamer for your purchases. Great and fast shipping not to mention they have great support.

    GBA Everdrive

Posted by Eric on Mar 13th 2023

Having just received my GBA Everdrive today, I was able to set up my microSD card within 10 minutes with all the files I needed including the newest OS version from the files page on Stoneagegamer. I was able to copy over my own ripped cartridges as I have a PCB dumper and all my games ran flawlessly on the everdrive. Have so far tested (short sessions) about 20 games in my collection and no issues so far.

Another added bonus is that even the movie cartridge files will work with the GBA Everdrive. This is probably the best purchase I`ve made for my GBA since installing a backlit IPS screen.
100% recommended, just make sure to read all the instructions carefully, format as FAT32 (or you`ll get a FAT error when trying to boot the cartridge) and essentially drag & drop.

Have also briefly tested the emulation capabilities with GB/GBC/SMS/GG. Some minor issues with the emulation, but GBA is 100% accurate.

Also wouldn`t recommend any microsd larger than 32-64GB as even will a full set of games for each system, you`ll use up maybe 25 gigs at most. Focus on getting a card that is at least U1 for speed.

    EverDrive GBA X5 Mini

Posted by Jerome Howard on Apr 27th 2022

I love this little unit. It works amazing in my Gameboy Advance handheld. And I love the physical case you can get with them, as before with other consoles, all I got were black plain boxes. I will always buy from StoneAgeGamer just for that fact alone. You cannot go wrong with this device. Also, something I would add. If you are interested in GB and GBC, even thought I bought the GB everdrive, I didn't realize this one would play them on the GBA through an emulator. If I had to do it over, I would probably just get this one, as I don't mind playing GB and GBC on the GBA. Just a thought. You can not go wrong getting this device if you love playing on original hardware.
