E) CLONE / UPGRADED CONSOLES – Flash carts / ODEs were developed and intended to be used on unchanged original hardware using original hardware accessories. Stone Age Gamer does not guarantee flash cart / ODE operation on clone consoles or altered consoles. Flash carts / ODEs may operate on some clone consoles or altered consoles. However, due to power consumption changes, random hardware changes and/or firmware updates of those consoles we cannot offer a guarantee of flash cart compatibility. Any returns due to incompatibility with clone consoles or altered consoles will result in no refund of any shipping costs and a 10% restocking fee if no defect is found during testing.

Best Genesis Flash Cart

This is bar none the best flash cart you can buy for the Sega Genesis. Not only does this cart feature all the things previous Genesis flash carts support such as SMS support, 32X support (Still need an actual 32X) and full support for the Genesis library but TO went the extra step and added Sega CD support through the FPGA, no Sega CD unit required. I can say they nailed it. Compatibility is near perfect, I spent many hours with this device trying every game I could think of and I had no problems whatsoever. Sega CD games on this run just as they do on a real system. I would only recommend this cart to people who are looking for Sega CD though since the rest of this cart's features are covered by the cheaper Mega Everdrive X7 but if you want Sega CD without having to deal with aging optical drive hardware then this is the cart to get.

A must-have Sega Genesis companion

Devices like the Mega SD are absolutely vital for the future of preserving retro gaming experiences. Not only does it let you use the perfectly good console you likely already have (or can purchase on the cheap), but it bypasses the finicky CD add-on which as time goes on will be more and more prone to malfunctions and optical discs that may begin to rot 30+ years into their lifetime.

Mega SD gives you a way to turn your Sega Genesis and its library into a "forever" console of Sega history, able to play Master System, Genesis, and CD games right out of the box, with 32X and 32X CD games possible through that add-on and expansions. You can even play Genesis games in ways they were never meant to be played with the ultra-cool MD+ format that lets you play Genesis games with CD-quality soundtracks! All of this contained in a no-nonsense UI with lots of functionality. I recommend getting the protective case along with your copy in order to preserve and show-off this really top-notch piece of engineering. No Genesis or Mega Sg should be without one!

After many copies of sonic cd and many replacements of fuses, (why did sega ever make a different plug!!!)... it was time for a change.
Mega SD gets me the ability to play a copy of sonic with out worrying on damaging another cd and i dont have to worry about someone plugging in the wrong power cable again.

It's alright, not as good as a sandwich, but much better than a cheep multicast. It's robust, well built, priced like an expensive bit of kit, honestly you're better off going with the MEGA SD just for 32x cd support. If you just wanna play regular Genesis games, grab krizz cart.

Really happy with this cart. Plays everything and even works with the new MD+ games, which add CD quality audio and other enhancements. Works with basically every Genesis game and add-on if configured properly.

I grew up w/ everything Sega; started w/ the master system all the way down to the Dreamcast (RIP). Being able to play the sega CD games alone made this a must buy for me. Games run crisp, very easy to set up/add files and is great on original hardware. Do your research Re: the model you use as I hear that there are issues w/ certain versions (especially model 3). The only drawback for me is not being able to reset from the in-game menu when playing master system games (admittedly nit picky). Well worth the price if you're serious about quality and accuracy!
