    Mega SD

Posted by Kevin on Jun 26th 2023

Sadly the Mega SD doesn`t currently work with Analogue`s Mega SG. I contacted Terra Onion and never heard back from them. It did work with a Model 1 Sega Genesis. Looking online it sounds like this is due to a different chip they`re using in their newer carts. Stone Age Gamer was great through the whole process and worked with me on a solution. Thank you Stone Age Gamer!

    MegaSD review

    Posted by Soybeans45 on Jun 13th 2023

It didn`t work on my PAL Mega Drive 2. Every PAL Mega Drive game I`ve tried so far freezes sooner or later (new firmware or old firmware - just doesn`t work at all). Worked on my US Genesis 2 with US/JP NTSC games without problems though. Tried to get in touch with Terraonion on Discord. They pretty much ignored me or simply don`t have the manpower to respond in a timely manner. Sorely disappointed to be honest from the point of view of European gamer. They ought to have mentioned these problems somewhere in the product description. Apparently these problems only affect MegaSDs with the new Intel chips that they were forced to use due to the previous ones no longer being available. So if you`re a gamer with a PAL system you should be aware of this before you purchase this product.

    MegaSD

This is a nice cartridge that allows all of my games to be played with one cart. There were some issues with the cartridge but eventually they were worked out.

A MUST HAVE FOR EACH GENESIS OWNER

Posted by Damiao Deivid Gomes da Silva on Apr 19th 2023

Although we have lots of everdrive options at market today, the MegaSD from TerraOnion is a treasure itself. I don`t care if KRIKzz has a supposedly better megadrive everdrive. Mega SD is a perfect everdrive with game thumbs, lots of configurations and it Sega CD game capabilities enabled me to unplug the CD part from my Sega CDx.

What an amazing product! Works exactly the way you want it to. Love the UI art with the little CRT haha very nice touch. I have the cart running through my analogue Mega SG and the quality of visuals is just amazing. I highly recommend anybody getting this cart for sure!

Did not work on my Model 2 only Model 1 Genesis

Posted by Ronnie Moreno on Apr 1st 2023

Contacted stonagegamers first regarding my issue. I was simply given a response wait for firmware update. So they expect me to just not use a product I paid full price for?! Really?! WITH NO OPTION FOR A REFUND! Which no one has a update on when or if this will fix my issue. My model 1 Sega genesis works fine with the Mega SD. My model 2 does not work at all. Which is odd since the Mega everdrive X7 works no matter which revision I use. I own two revisions of the model 1 and one model 2. I would think this wouldn`t matter. Get the mega ever drive and save yourself the frustration of the Mega SD nightmare you could face. Since it`s dependent on you console model and revision.

    Great piece of kit

Posted by Ahmad on Feb 13th 2022

This is a great device, with a dream list of capabilities and compatibilities. The only limitations I've done across so far relate to the way the original consoles were designed, and not a fault in the MegaSD.
