    Near perfection

Posted by Works like a charm on Apr 27th 2023

My order came very quickly, as is often the case with Stone Age Gamer. Their shipping is great. The cartridge itself looks great, just like any other Nintendo cartridge, but with a slot for the micro SD card. Since I ordered a Micro SD Card with my N8 Pro, I didn`t have to do any setup myself, I just had to put the games on there and it was ready to go, easy as pie.

The games perform perfectly for the most part. I even tried out the NES Zapper and it all works as intended. This thing can play Famicom and Famicom Disk System games as well, but you are unfortunately out of luck on the sound unless you do some modding of your system.

I was also able to play romhacks and homebrew games on this device, although one or two of them were prone to slowdown.

If I had any issues with the everdrive N8, it`s the save states. You get 99 of them. I was confused by this when I was buying the game. It`s not 99 save slots per game. It`s 99 total... which seems good, but I don`t know what the point of all those save slots are, because you have no way of knowing what slot is saved to which game unless you keep track of that information yourself. Maybe with a sticky note. I can`t be bothered. So I try to make sure not to play more than one game that I would need save states with. Hardly a deal breaker though, I`m glad to have that functionality at all.

I think if you own an NES in this day and age and you don`t want to spend an arm and a leg getting all the best games to play on it, then you`d do well to by this product.

    Outstanding Gaming Experience

Superb retrogaming experience. I am blown away by the authenticity and versatility of Krikzz's work, and the support Stone Age Gamer has provided me. It's been truly outstanding. Highly recommended to gaming enthusiasts with original or FPGA hardware! And combined with Smoke Monster's File System, it's a truly elegant way to game.

    Amazing Flash Cart!

Posted by Marcus on Jan 16th 2022

This was the first time I've ever used a flash cart. It probably took around 5 minutes from opening the box, copying files to an SD card, to playing games! It's just so darn simple. This is device has transformed my collecting experience, now I can keep my collection pristine on the shelf while playing backups without any wear and tear on my console. I'm using this on a modified Nes w/ NESRGB and a multi-out component cable, and it works flawlessly. It's a breeze to use the OSD to switch games without getting off the couch.

I also ordered the deluxe edition, it came with all sorts of awesome goodies that remind me of the good 'ol days when we'd get boxes and manuals with game purchases.

Stone Age Gamer shipped on a Saturday within hours after ordering, and it arrived on a Tuesday that same week. I couldn't thank them more, because this was ordered during the December holiday rush and I was stunned to see it get shipped so fast!

    It’s Awesome

I was on the fence for the N8 PRO for a few years. After getting it I can’t recommend it enough to fans of the NES looking for an authentic experience on original hardware. The quality is top notch. Menu and game loading are quick, and setting the cart up is a breeze. It’s an outstanding piece of hardware that is worth the cost.

    The Best NES Flashcart

Posted by Jason Boren on Aug 31st 2021

I was in the market for a flash cart for my Nintendo Entertainment System. After doing some research on what was available I went with the Everdrive N8 Pro. It is miles better than the others that are out there both in build quality and features. I could not be more pleased with my choice! Not only are the customization available here awesome, the materials used are of the highest quality. Stone Age Gamer also has FANTASTIC customer service! If you are in the market for a flash cart for your NES look not further than the Everdrive N8 Pro here on

    The ultimate NES flashcart

Posted by Michael Frank on Jun 3rd 2021

What drew me to this flashcart was the huge variety of mappers supported and custom soundchip emulation for games like Gimmick. NSF playback is also a huge plus; can't forget savestate support as well! All in all this can run literally everything you throw at it including complex rom hacks/homebrew... so if compatibility with near every game is your concern, right now there is no other flashcart for NES that can compete with this. Highly recommended!

    Everdrive N8 Pro

Posted by Will Blake on May 19th 2021

Has worked with every game I've thrown at it. The ability to use saves states on original hardware for me is a game changer. I don't have the kind of time I did when I was a kid, but simply being able to save and load my game has got me playing my NES more than I have in decades! The Everdrive N8 supports 99 saves slots (per game), which is more than enough for the entire family. My son enjoys playing around with game genie codes. The N8 Pro might not be cheapest option out there, but it's probably the best investment I've ever made when it comes to console gaming.
