This is the Super GC+ kit for Nintendo GameCube. It’s a relatively simple modification that allows you to make your existing Super NES controller compatible with Nintendo Gamecube, and Wii consoles with GameCube controller ports. The kit comes with these parts here, and requires minimal soldering, making it a perfect entry-level project for those looking to learn modification skills.

Its base installation results in a simple Super NES controller with a Gamecube controller port at the end, making your classic SNES pad perfect for D-pad-centric games like the Sonic Gems Collection, or for use with the Game Boy Player accessory.

A more detailed instructional video to help walk you through the installation process can be found on the product page on our site.

This kit is also built to be expandable, and has been “made with modders and tinkerers in mind.” There are many extra ports and options available that can be utilized to make all manner of personal modifications, if you see fit.

Now let’s see it in action.

Here is a Super NES controller modified with the Super GC+ being used to play Double Dragon Advance on the Game Boy Player. As you can see, the controller doesn’t introduce any input lag. Since the Super NES lacks a dedicated Z button, the select button can be used in its place, as seen here accessing the Game Boy Player's menu.

The Super GC+ from 4 Layer Technologies is available now at Stone Age Gamer, so you can convert your Super NES controllers for use with the GameCube or compatible Wii console.
