Looks great. Fits Poorly. Not a good experience

I've been building custom game cubes for nearly 15 years now and this is surprisingly the first time I've used a Muramasa shell. I haven't used them in the past because of their price but I was comissioned to build a red game cube, is currently only made by Muramasa. The quality of the plastic is good and includes everything but the screws and other metal hardware like springs. The clear parts for the open button and door mechanism are a nice touch. I was a bit disappointed that the lid gear wasn't included for the price. The black gear looks out of place when everything else is clear.

My biggest complaint was getting everything to fit together properly. The bottom shell was a little large, making it difficult to put the top on. I was concerned I would break the lip on one of the two housings. Once reassembled, I ran into two more issues. The power button would not work correctly because it was too tall. I ended up filing material off the bottom and it worked. Additionally, the memory card doors would get stuck in the open position. The issue appears to stem from the supports in the bottom shell being too tall and putting unnecessary pressure on the mainboard. I had to disassemble the GameCube and filed down the supports which allowed everything to fit in place. I'm glad I did this because the board was actually bending. Sanded down the face plate around memory slot B as the door would still catch on occasion.

I did quite a bit troubleshooting and in every instance replacing the problematic part with its OEM counterpart resolved the issue.

I've had similar issues with cheap shells from AliExpress but those are less than half the price so I'm a bit more understanding. At this price point, these issues are unacceptable. I'm only giving this 3 starts because it looks amazing once complete and the customer loved it.

I cannot recommend this product unless you are already comfortable working on consoles and are willing to modify the shell to make everything fit properly.

Ordered the orange GameCube shell. This is a high quality replacement which includes all pieces needed. Looks awsome and was definitely worth the asking price. Looking forward to ordering another with the Gameboy player shell.

    Quality shell replacement

Got the clear version of this shell and it`s beautiful! Moving over springs from the old shell was straightforward. My power button wasn`t clicking down all the way and it was because I overtightened the screws holding the shell together. Loosening them slightly resolved that. All said, great shell replacement that`s absolutely worth the price and install time
