Warning: If using 2 light guns on the same system, do NOT hook up both sensors, you should only need 1 sensor placed as close to the middle of the top of the TV as possible.  If you use 2 sensors it may not be as accurate as it should be and you may have to calibrate more often than you should need to, in order to overcompensate for the extra sensor.

Please Note: Other Lightgun games that use the Konami Justifier (Hyper Blaster in EU/JP) may have a workaround if using an ODE such as the xStation to run the games.  Game patches can be found for those games that enable compatibility with the Time Breaker.

2 Pack Discount: Want to grab 2 for Multiplayer action?  Save $30 by selecting the additional 2 Pack! We recommend also adding the USB Hub if you do not already have one available, as when playing 2 players on PS2 games you will need an extra USB port as the PS2's only have 2 ports.

Time Breaker Light Gun - A Great GunCon Successor!

Posted by Jazzy G on May 11th 2026

During my 90`s I loved every Namco shooter that came out for the PS1/PS2. They were fun and were a great party game! The Point Blank Series was especially loved with friends and family. What made these games so great was the GunCon itself: it was accurate and super fun to use.

Now fast forward to today: I haven`t owned a CRT TV for over 15 years, but I still have a working PS1 & PS2 and EVERY original Namco GunCon Game (even Time Crisis 4 for PS3). When I heard about the Time Breaker Light Gun (TBLG), I was so excited to break out these classic games again! I am so glad I made the purchase - the TBLG is an amazing successor to the classic GunCon that can be played on current LCDs!

The TBLG is built as good, if not better than the GunCon. It`s a solid kit with a nice balance and some extra features that are fun to use. With quick assembly (you must connect the grip to the gun), and a quick charge (it came charged, but I wanted to ensure it was ready for playtime), the TBLG looks and feels great! Button placement is intuitive and the joystick is where it is accessible (maybe a little too high for my liking, but it will do). The set up was super simple: I just placed the sensor on top of my 85`` LCD and the TBLG instantly registered the sensor and the LCD boundaries! The calibrated lens needed just a touch of adjustment, but nothing out of inconvenience.

Playtime: the first game I played was Point Blank - if there is a game to test out accuracy, this is it. With the quick play games and usual time limits, the accuracy of the TBLG had to be spot on or else forget being able to play this game. I can say this - it was A BLAST! The TBLG worked flawlessly (note: on my 85`` LCD I noticed that the closer I was to the screen, the less accurate the TBLG was. I stepped back to view from 10` and the accuracy improved tenfold!!!). After several rounds, I was starting to match or beat some of my high scores (yes, I have a whole memory card dedicated to the GunCon series and the save files are intact!). The biggest test for accuracy: The Single Leaf or Apple Shot - both rounds only give you one bullet to win or lose. I can say that with the TBLG I never missed! The TBLG is accurate enough to hold its own with the Point Blank Series.

I played Time Crisis next. Now, the accuracy was still very good, however I did notice that during some stages that the TBLG was slightly trailing and that I had a few misses here and there. But for the challenging areas (where enemies are far away and behind cover), the TBLG still performed valiantly and though my hit % wasn`t the best, I was still able to achieve some pretty good scores. Time Crisis is more about getting through the levels, so the game still shows a good level of difficulty.

Lastly, I played Ninja Assault on the PS2. Again, with the included dongle setup was super easy and calibration was great. Playing Ninja Assault was a blast - it has some very critical pain points during some levels and the TBLG worked great as well. Again, there was a bit of lag during some points in the game where the gun felt like it was trailing, but never enough to take away from the full experience. I get it - if you truly want the accuracy and refinement that the original GunCons provided, then using a CRT is the best solution. However, these games/devices weren`t designed for LCDs and the adaptation of the TBLG makes these vintage games playable again! I can truly say that the playing experience has been amazing and playing these vintage games on a huge 85`` TV is simply mind blowing! If you truly loved playing these games in the past, the TBLG makes it equally as fun playing them today on your LCD! I highly recommend getting two for even more fun with a friend!

Note 2: I connected this setup to a smaller 43`` LCD to see if there was any difference. The keys to success: I set up the LCD on a pedestal to allow the screen to be at standing height instead of aiming down. Also, I was able to stand a little closer - roughly 6 feet away. The key is to have the light gun's neutral position pointed at the center of the screen and level, not pointing up or down. This is key for the sensor to provide the most accurate positioning of the camera built into the gun.

I have not tried the other brand of light gun, but I can vouch for the TBLG - it simply works and it makes playing the Namco games super fun!!!

    Not very accurate

Posted by Not great on Apr 28th 2026

The gun is not very accurate and is slow to respond to movement on an HDTV. It may work better on a crt but then you`d probably be using an original light gun. I`m using it on a PS2 connected to a 65in LG C2 and i`ve tried a few PS1 and PS2 games with it. As long as you don`t make sudden movements with your arm you can be ``mostly`` accurate. I also own the Sinden light guns and as far as accuracy and responsiveness there is no comparison. You can even notice the lack of accuracy in the very short video showing it being used by SAG.

    Time Breaker Light Gun

It just works. Very simple set-up and play. The quality is superb with a great feel and just the right weight. I have so many PS1/2 Light gun games but had to get rid of my CRT. For year`s they sat collecting dust until I came across the Time Breaker. Being able to play my actual games on real hardware just like I did with the GunCon all those years ago is amazing. A purchase worth making for any light gun enthusiast.

TIME BREAKER LIGHT GUN - PLAYSTATION, PLAYSTATION 2

Posted by BigAlsRover on Apr 15th 2026

So far the experience has been seamless. I have tested this on a 70” LCD, Projector and 36” CRT all working within mins. Very easy setup. This is an interesting void in new light guns where other light guns don't perform as well on the current PS1 PS2 replicators So when I saw this said it was compatible with original hardware I was immediately skeptical, but had to pick it up Accuracy and playability are definitely there. I don't know if I'm fast enough to complete certain mini games in vampire night but I may be a little rusty lol
