More about Technoptimistic:

The first plug and play techno cartridge album for Sega's classic 16bit console.

Music by Remute, Code by Kabuto, GFX by Exocet

Listening on a Sega Mega Drive / Genesis Model 1 is highly recommended, but Model 2 also works - Model 3 and Sega Nomad too.

Will also work very well on FPGA-based solutions like Analogue's Mega Sg (a very good option for the audiophile!).

It will not work properly on the majority of clone consoles based on emulation.

*Cartridge will work with any region Sega Genesis/Mega-drive except for Japanese Model 1 with cart lock. THERE IS NO SIDE NOTCH ON THIS CART.

In the digital world we live in, fear is everywhere; we fear the prospect that digitization could make us redundant to robots. The world of electronic music producer and techno DJ Remute has never looked more different. Embracing the digital age with all its nuances and extremities, Hamburg based Remute views digitization as an ally to the human race; one that enriches our lives and drives us forward.

“In times where the term 'digitization' triggers dystopian fears and worries, I wanted to provide a soundtrack for an optimistic vision of a technologic future with man and machine in unison." - Remute

After his highly acclaimed 2017 album 'Limited' which single-handedly initiated the musical comeback of the floppy disk, Remute proved that 1,44 Megabytes are just enough for good music. Making a statement to the wider sphere, showcasing how old school technological formats can marry together with man-made musical production. Striking back in his quest to marry man and machine, Remute presents his forthcoming ‘Technoptimistic’ LP on another ground-breaking format; The Sega Mega Drive Cartridge.

“The machines work for us. We program, they execute. Technology helps us with uncomfortable tasks, makes us do adventurous things and can even cure us when we're ill. If we maintain a positive attitude towards technology, it will enhance our minds and take us to far places. That's why I am TECHNOPTIMISTIC.” - Remute

Coolest retro-futuristic album release to date

Posted by Ariella on Jun 7th 2021

The Remute TECHNOPTIMISTIC release to Sega Genesis cartridge is an instant favourite in my electronic music collection. It’s a genuine Sega Genesis cartridge with menu, tracks, and animation to make listening to amazing authentic music being generated by the Genesis itself.

StoneAge Gamer did an amazing job with the materials, design and packaging. It looks great, and feels like a high quality production. I expect the value of this product is going to appreciate.

Remute leverages the sound system to a brilliant extent and listening to it on a pair of good studio or cabinet speakers is a real treat.

Within the cartridge is not just a full music album of luscious electronica, but also a demo-scene themed music video rendered in real-time using Genesis hardware. It’s so cool!

Sorry to sound so promotional but I LOVE this release. I hope other artists pick on this format and multi-media experience. It’s so very satisfying and enjoyable, and Remute wrote some excellent memorable music that I’m already finding myself humming.
