    NeoSD Pro only half works

Posted by TS on Jul 29th 2021

One of the features I was looking forward to with the NeoSD Pro was the RAM slot that loads games quickly unlike the comparatively slow flash slots.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a bug (reported elsewhere and even in pre-production reviews on YouTube) whereby the game in the RAM slot quickly loses some or all of the audio while playing. I actually thought it was my MVS and went through a lot of hassle trying to diagnose the issue until I caught a mention of the issue in a YouTube review...

Until that gets fixed, it's only 2 stars since I'd expected it to work and the RAM slot bug looks to have been known for awhile...

Very interesting cartridge. Stoneage- customer support amazing! TO- needs a little hand.

Overall, the cartridge is very neat. Does what it's supposed to do. I like the case and clamshell. The only interesting bits is the format the games need to be in and support for different motherboards. Some MVS motherboards I've tried just don't like the cartridge at all. TO customer support seens to put that on the customer. Due to the nature of the hobby- I understand- but there's also a tactful way to get your point across. We've tested a TON of motherboards and hardware- and we're not novices by any stretch- and sometimes some of these cartridges just don't like them, so possibly be prepared to hunt a few just in case. Either way- cartridge is very cool, just be prepared for a little work and don't come in to this expecting customer support from the producer. As far as Stone Age goes- they've always gone above and beyond and are a great company.

    A Powerhouse Flashcart

Posted by Steven Williams on Jul 20th 2021

Fast intuitive menu interface runs most roms. Comes with 5 slots including a ram slot that load most games in no time. The 4 other slots store games for instant boot. With FPGA implementation all games run smoothly identical to the originals.

Comes with dip settings and cheats that can be dumped. The cheats you manually have to hunt down on your own and have them placed on your sd card. The soft dips are cool but I think they apply across all games so adjust accordingly. The cart enables you to save high scores to your sd card... the cart doesn't allow for transferring your full gamesaves to the sd cards which I found disappointing. You'll have to make due with only transferring scores.

Be careful when inserting the cart because for some CMVS systems the cart goes in backwards. I had to open up the shell and turn over the pcbs to match my analogue CMVS. This feels like a hefty cart. It's got a lot of horse power. But it's very expensive felt like I was buying a car. Overall a solid cartridge much better than the 100 plus repos floating around on ebay.

    Great Device!

When paired with Unibios 4.0, the NeoSD Pro is the ultimate Neo Geo experience. Easier as it seems to set up and I cannot recommend this enough!

    Great product from Terraonion

Posted by Shuofan Chen on Jul 5th 2021

This is definitely a must-have for retro Neo-Geo fans. I got the MVS version which has the best value for money. MVS boards can still be easily found and you can consolize it with a c-box. NeoSD Pro supports more than 50 Neo-Geo CD titles including all 8 CD exclusive games. The loading time is insanely fast and 3-4 times faster than NeoCD SD Loader.from my test. With NeoSD Pro, you can enjoy full Neo-Geo library in one single cartridge, and there is no similar alternative on the market. This is an substantial investment, however it’s absolutely worth it.

The best flash cart for Neo geo fans!

Posted by Anthony C on Jun 24th 2021

I’ve owned regular neosds (mvs and aes) and the neosd pro aes. This functions the same as the neosd pro and provides great flexibility. The 4 persistent slots make it easy to keep my current 4 favorite games readily available and the fast loading RAM slot gives me flexibility when I have company or want to play something different than the usual. I have a few consolized mvs units and cabs (huge Neo Geo fan) and this works perfectly across all of them. Terraonion is very responsive if you have questions or issues

    Super neat piece of hardware

Posted by GS on Jun 22nd 2021

Was worth the wait. As always, Stoneagegamer packaged it well and it shipped quickly. The hardware itself is very nice- if a little expensive- but when the carts themselves are all around $100 anyways, this pays for itself after finding 3 or 4 games you like. Reccomended!

    Definitive MVS Cart

Posted by Rayce on Jun 18th 2021

I'm not even sure if these will be available again in the future, but I just want to say this product is amazing. I'm sure if you're reading this you've looked at the reviews on YouTube and I'd say they're all accurate. I got a kick out of the fact that this thing goes in backwards in my Open MVS as well. Terraonion knocked it out of the park again. If this isn't available again, I would still encourage whoever reads this to consider their non-pro option which is still an amazing device and well worth the price if it fits your needs.
