The Jaguar GameDrive has full support for all games and sizes of EEPROM (used to save game progress). The EEPROM contents are saved directly to the memory card along with your game, so everything is stored in one place.

Stone Age Gamer does not guarantee flash cart / ODE operation on clone consoles or modified consoles. Flash carts / ODEs may operate on some clone consoles or modified consoles. A fantastic addition to your Jaguar

The Atari Jaguar is a console that often gets neglected when looking at the mods and enhancements scene. The Homebrew scene is very active and worth exploring, but the Jaguar library can often be prohibitively expensive. Enter the Game Drive.

The Game Drive is the only in-production flash cartridge for the Jaguar that I am aware of, and it is a massive improvement over something like the Skunk Board. Whereas the Skunk Board only works for one game image at a time, this functions more akin to an Everdrive. And it has some limited Jaguar CD support, which is a blessing given the high price and reliability issues of the actual CD device.

However, while I have been positive, there is something that should be known: this is not an Everdrive and it does show in a few key ways. First, the firmware update process is kind of janky, considering you need to press a button on boot and then enter a URL manually or scan a QR code (which means it would download to your phone…which is very hard to get data onto?) and then it functions as you might expect. Additionally the support isn’t 100%, with a few games having an occasional issue here and there. And the CD support, while revolutionary, does have some drawbacks. Each CD rip needs to be converted into a JCD file, which is done through a tool that only runs on Windows. And once you’ve done that, the JCD files need to be placed continuously on the SD card. This is where the trouble really begins, since even with a fresh format it isn’t guaranteed to place files continuously and you’ll get an error message when you try to launch them. There are a few tricks, like adding a new copy, deleting the old file, and renaming the copy to the original name, but it can take a couple hours of fiddling to get the CD games you want running. And even if they do get copied continuously, they’re not guaranteed to run. Some of the better games don’t work well (World Tour Racing) or don’t boot for me at all (Hover Strike: Unconquered Lands). This may improve with time but it’s hard to say if/when that will update.

In all, this is a worthwhile tool to have for the Jaguar, particularly if you’re a Homebrew developer, but it is not without some significant caveats. For most people, this is a great flash cartridge for the Jaguar, and I highly recommend it.

Excellent addiion to a system with a hard to find game market

I live in NYC and you may think there would be hundereds of retro video game stores to go and buy old Jaguar games from. This is not the case, if you are lucky enough to find a game it will be prohibitively expensive and you will often have no clue if you will even like the game. Enter the Jaguar Game Drive! Now you have access to try all of the comercially available games, so that you know beforehand if you are willing to pay for the game you see in the retro store with the equivalent price of your kidney. Thanks for a great product!

This cart is amazing with a community that has marque (mrq) files set up for the majority of the games so additional information and cover art are shown in the game selection menu.

The cart was a little picky about SD cards to run CD games, but a low priced PNY card worked much better than a generic.

This Flash Carts is nicely made and runs well, the menu looks good. Can run Jaguar CD games, but they need to be run through a conversion process first and their performance is spotty.

My main criticism of the Jaguar Gamedrive is no fault of the product itself: mostly it's just a bummer that even a complete Jaguar Library has hardly any games worth playing. A good purchase to experience the many bad Jaguar games firsthand!

Hey all, Dylan here. I gotta say the GameDrive works incredibly well, no stuttering, no hard crashing. The only thing i havent tried out is the Jaguar CD games as of writing this.

This honesty has saved me alot of money as Jagur games are getting extremely expensive as of recently, i still plan on getting the most important games for the console but right now this will have to do.

Also anyone here played Alien Vs Predator on the Jaguar? Please exist! This game is my absolute childhood.

The Jaguar Game Drive works well and the cartridge shell seems pretty sturdy. Having the ability to play the library, hard to find, and home-brew titles is awesome. Unfortunately the CD games don't work most of the time or crash when loading. Hopefully there will be an update to fix this. Other than that its a great buy.

the Game Drive is an awesome device. With the prices of Jaguar games now it really lets collectors test games they may want to see if its worth a purchase. There is now support for Jag CD and Atari ST games. The one knock is that the supply is limited so when you see them available its a must have.
