HyperBoy 32Mbit Flash Cart for Virtual Boy

HyperBoy 32Mbit Flashcart

PLEASE NOTE: Box Set Sold Optionally - You must select that option if you want to purchase the box set.

HyperBoy is all about getting a cheaper flash cart for Virtual Boy out to VB gamers.  It's based on my HF32 design, but drops the eInk screen, cap touch buttons, haptic feedback, and SD card to reduce cost.  It requires a PC to update games and is still a "1 game at a time" cart.  I've also added some RetroOnyx flare to it like aluminum covers with laser etched graphics.  Lastely, it's the first ever VB flash cart built from 100% new parts.  No donors parts used for these!

Features overview:

  • 32 Mbit Flash memory
  • 32k x 8 nvSRAM
  • Aluminum anodized covers
  • 3D printed carbon fiber frame
  • Laser etched graphics
  • USB port for game loading
  • Uses a current generation GUI called HyperBoyFlasher

Compared to FlashBoy+, HyperBoy has the following advantages:

  • Backup of SRAM files using HyperBoyFlasher 2.0 from Thunderstruck
  • Current generation GUI
  • Automatic padding of ROM files
  • Double the flash memory
    • Holds the full Hyper Fighting ROM file
  • Four times the SRAM
  • nvSRAM, so no backup battery to worry about

OPTIONAL HyperBoy Box Set (available only as add on to the HyperBoy Flash Cart)

A box set plus a flash cart can give you that "complete in box" (CIB) feel of an original game release.

This box set has a quick start card instead of a manual. Quck start guide, tray insert, cart bag, box protective sleeve

A great and long awaited product! The Hyperboy is a flash card for the Nintendo Virtual Boy. You can use it to play homebrew games and it supports big games like Hyper Fighting too. The PC tool makes the flash process very easy and convenient. The Hyperboy flash cart is easy to use and a must for every Virtual Boy user!

    Virtual Boy Hyperboy Review

Flash your eyes on the Hyperboy Virtual Boy Flash cartridge! The ability to play all officially released Virtual Boy games is like finding a treasure in Wario Land.

Growing up with the Virtual Boy system and owning most of the games, it is great to be able to play them all with a properly solder-fixed display screen with one cartridge. If you`re looking for an ideal solution, then you would want the Hyperboy flash cartridge.

Want to get your eyes kicked in the prototype Faceball 2000? Blast aliens in Space Invaders? Now is your chance!

Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting is now playable for the first time ever, if your eyes won`t haduken you!

The fun starts with a good shell kicking in Mario Clash! Endless hours of fun with explosive fun with Panic Bomber.

The Hyperboy flash cartridge itself is easy to use with the flash software and is straight-forward. With the right cable it may be possible to link two Virtual Boy systems and play against your friends!

    It`s all right.

Having to go through the flash process just makes me wish there was an on-screen flash menu like on an Everdrive rather than linking to a computer. On my primary workstation I could not get the recommended Hyperboy software to recognize the cart, despite multiple attempts at installing the drivers recommended on the Hyperboy site. I ended up having to try a spare laptop. Thankfully it worked there, but the whole thing was a major hassle and pretty frustrating. Once I got to actually flashing, it took quite a while to actually do so--the flash process is quite slow. Overall the product feels well built, but be warned, if you can`t get the Hyperboy software detecting your cart on your PC, you might be SOL.

An excellent flash cart, can only hold one game at a time, but is big enough to hold the (currently) largest 4mb homebrew games such as Hyper Fighting and the Formula V demo. The PC utility is easy to use, but make sure you have a micro USB cable as the cart didn`t come with one.
