FXPAK Pro (Neon Night)

SD Card Size

The "SD2SNES Pro" was re-branded to "FXPAK Pro" due to a trademark conflict. The FXPAK Pro still is the same great product, just with a new name!

This is the Neon Night version of the FXPAK Pro for All Regions of the Super Famicom and SNES (it will fit into Japanese, European & North American systems). This cartridge comes assembled in a transparent black shell, purple anodized screws and a Neon Night-style label.

Ever dream of having your whole library of SNES or SFC games in a single cartridge? The FXPAK Pro allows you to load your game back-ups (commonly known as ROMs) on a microSD card, put the microSD card into the FXPAK Pro, put the FXPAK Pro into a SNES or Super Famicom and have your list of games at your finger tips. Basic Edition vs. Deluxe Edition

The Basic Edition comes with just the FXPAK Pro cartridge with a gray back label in the selected style or configuration covered by a 1-year Warranty. • microSD supported (tested up to 64GB; no exFAT support so SDXC cards must be reformatted using FAT32).
  • Fast ROM loading (~9MB/s).
  • Fast menu navigation.
  • Directories are sorted automatically, no need for FAT sorting tools.
  • High resolution menu (512×224) for adequate display of long file names.
  • Real Time Clock.
  • Supports ROM size up to 128MBit (96Mbit actually implemented).
  • Automatic near-time SRAM saving to SD Card (while the game runs). Some limitations apply:
    • near-time saving is switched to periodic saving when a game is found to use the SRAM as work RAM.
    • Automatic saving is disabled when MSU1 is used. SRAM is saved on reset.
    • Enhancement chip support (see below for implementation status).
  • SuperCIC key (SNES CIC clone):
    • enables operation on unmodified consoles of all regions.
    • supports software 50/60Hz switching on SuperCIC enhanced consoles only (to be performed by FXPAK firmware, not yet implemented there).
    • Auto region patching: eliminates “This Game Pak is not designed…” messages regardless of 50/60Hz setting.

Worth it just for the MSU1 Chip

Posted by gamerjerome on Nov 14th 2021

I mulled over getting FXPAK Pro for sometime. I felt it was a lot to spend on a flash cart. Then I saw what people were doing with the MSU1 chip on the Pro model. CD quality Music on SNES? Yes please. This clear and purple accented model also looks great with the new smoke SNES console shells that came out.

As for the functionality I'm pretty happy with it. Once set up it's pretty easy to use and everything worked. I did however drop this review to 4 stars because of the setup. It wasn't difficult to put the firmware on it but it would be nice if it was designed in a way that you didn't have too. If you're looking for the newest firmware it's not directly linked from the product page, which would be nice, but it's down in the footer link called Flash Cart Downloads.

Other than the small setup it's worth it.

This is by far the best solution for playing ROM-hacks on the original Hardware. The firmware development ist still active and more functions are getting added. Definitely worth the price.

    Best Purchase Ever

This is probably the best investment I have made for my gaming collection and being able to play any SNES game with all the special chips are a dream. MSU-1 support breaths new life into my SNES collection.

    An Outstanding Flash Cart!

Posted by StuOhQ on Aug 19th 2021

I was previously using a Super UFO Pro 8 as a dual flash cart and ROM dumper. I sold a few Super Famicom carts and swapped for this excellent Flash cart with MUCH better compatibility. No complaints here! :)

The ultimate solution, a wise and recommended investment

Posted by Jeremey Z. on Jun 25th 2021

I can honestly say that the FXPAK Pro is by far one of my favorite things in my retro gaming collection. Not only does it have all of my games that are in my collection and play all of my games in my collection (including the PAL region games), it looks great in the SNES, too. Honestly should have considered getting this sooner, but these sell out so fast. The color choices are well worth the extra money spent, too. AND for those wondering, it even allows you to play the Kaizo Mario hacks, along with English patched games such as Seiken Densetsu 3 (Trials of Mana). If you’re hesitant on getting an everdrive, don’t be. It’s well worth the investment.

    FXPAK Pro

The Cadillac of the Super Nintendo. This cart is worth the price paid as it not only lets you play almost the entire Super Nintendo library, but through the tireless efforts of a big community, this cart can also be a CD-ROM drive for the SNES as there’s a laundry list of games that have CD soundtracks and some even have FMV! Imagine finally having the SNES CD-ROM we were promised years ago. Well it’s possible with this very cartridge, which is the only way to play on real hardware!

International onal buyer here, from Mexico.
This was my first order, never had owned an Everdrive before. Price might be a bit steep, but the quality of the case is good. This cartridge works with the mini SD, so the adapter that usually comes with any SD card is not used. It might be a bit confusing knowing the orientation when inserting the SD, but you figure it out instantly.
Something i notice is that (at least with the standard edition) you dont get any sort of instruction as to how to use the everdrive.
Yes, this site has all the documentation, but it would be nice to at least receive some printer instructions on a sheet, telling you the folder structure and the files you need. Again, that is on the website, but such instructions would save some time.
The product itself is good, very good. I am able to play hacks, regular roms, etc. All in all, great product. I sold most of my collection to get this, one for my snes and one for the genesis.
I consider these everdrives (the pro line) actual collector items, even over original cartridges. But that's just my opinion, of course.

    Just get it

This thing is fantastic for playing those fan-translated games that were only released in Japan. I played through Tales of Phantasia with it, which the US didn't get. I'm looking forward to many more.
