    Good Replacement

I have some OEM controllers with good sticks (9/10) and in my opinion those are still better than any after market controller. This is a good alternative if you have one with a very poor stick. The build quality is great and the feel and shape are excellent however the joystick on this (at least the one I got) was a little glitchy. It was hard to hold the stick in one place without it jumping around slightly. For this I had to remove a star.

    I didn’t think I’d like it

I was nervous about new N64 controllers and didn’t think I’d like these. I had bought some cheapo USB controllers online before and the sticks had very little range for control (most of the movement of the stick didn’t change the input to the game) so shooting or walking planks or bridges was very challenging.

These controllers feel just like the real thing! The buttons are a little more clicky than I remember original N64 controllers but the sticks are perfect. I actually like the very small extra force needed for the buttons also. The joysticks also have a very slight rubberized feeling that is also surprising pleasant. I was very impressed with these hyperkin controllers and would definitely add more to my collection.

    Feels nice

Was initially on the fence about picking up the hyperkin versus the old skool remake of the N64 Controller. From the pictures online it looks pretty bulky, or clunky might be a better description, and has more straight lines to its design as opposed to the original controller that was curvier. All my doubts were put to rest as soon as I got it in my hands. It is ever so slightly bigger than and original N64 controller, but it just fits right! I had no issues with the artistic freedom that departed from the original design of the N64 controller, and it actually feels more solid in my hands as opposed to the original. The addition of the gamecube style joystick actually allows for better dexterity during gameplay. I went with the gold colored version and was happy that it matches the Gold N64 Toys R Us limited edition console very closely, you wouldn't tell the difference.
