    5 Stars with a few quirks.

    This is a 5 star product but it has few quirks to be aware of. The first is that it only outputs 720P at 4:3 aspect ratio. It still looks great for the price, but it`s not full HD unless you stretch the image to 16:9. The other issue is with the power supply. Luckily they are selling the newer model that makes the external power supply optional. When I had it plugged in, every time I power cycled my Saturn (M.O.D.E. installed) it would reboot to the BIOS untill I power cycled the upscaler by unplugging it. With the external power source unplugged after a while I occasionally got a CD read error I had never got before. These can occur when there is insufficient power for the Saturn to power the laser or MODE in this case. I solved the issue by installing an optional power source to my MODE and leaving the upscaler unplugged. Works Perfectly now!! I did test it on an unupgraded Saturn as well. I noticed the same issue when power cycling as I did on my upgraded Saturn. This also occured when the optional power supply was unplugged, but not always. The laser ``seemed`` to be working harder than when I use the AV cords. There is no issue present when power cycling using the AV cords. All said and done I am 100% satisfied with the upscaler and am considering purchasing a second after some more through testing on my unupgraded Saturn.

    Great Value for Upscaling

    I`ve been looking for an upscaler/HDMI adapter for my Sega Saturn for some time. Other alternatives were either reliable but expensive or considerably cheap-looking. This HD Link cable not only makes my Saturn easier to connect with my television, it also makes it look much much better! It doesn`t break the bank and works very well. Thanks!
