Remember the Funtastic Series of colorful shells for the N64? Now it's time for a New Funtastic Series, by Trogg Tech! Launching with 8 awesome color options, all of which were never available for the N64. The New Funtastic Series of shells are OEM quality injection molded replacement shells to give your N64 a new look. They even come with different cart slot and front feet colors to design it the way you want. Two-tone and Limited Edition shells even come with an extra set of switches/buttons to allow even more customization.

HDMI upgrade FRIENDLY! This shell was specifically designed for easier upgrade to the AV shroud or bottom shell for mini-HDMI upgrades. This area was made thinner to make it easier to cut and remove the plastic needed for such upgrades.

New Funtastic Series Cut

NOTICE: This product does NOT come with an installed N64 motherboard. Only what is listed below. The motherboard is installed in the images for representational purposes so the customer can see what the final install may look like.

PLEASE NOTE: Use care to not overtighten when installing screws in shell, if overtightened too much it could crack screw posts or even the shell.  These shells do not come with screws required for installation of motherboard and other internal components. Those must be transferred from the original donor console. Does not include N64 motherboard.

    Great Shell

    The shell is really well made and sturdy but there are a few things to need to know before going into it. The holes for the screws are not prethreaded so be careful with old screws and be ready to use force to screw everything in. If you`re not following instructions just hope you don`t forget anything.

    The shell bundle comes with a matching color cartridge tray, which I didn`t see stated anywhere. So that`s good to have and information you should know. Everything else I believe is listed in the product description.


    It`s fairly easy to put together outside of the need to use a lot of force when screwing everything together. Try not to forget any pieces of the shell along the way so you don`t have to take it part multiple times.

    The power button and reset buttons work fine and are very smooth as well. Everything still connects perfectly as is. No problems with anything looking wrong. It looks just like a stock Nintendo 64 shell but in whatever color you order.

    Overall a great product and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to customize their Nintendo 64.

    The shell is great and matches the atomic purple controller soooo nicely I do agree with other reviews screwing into the plastic is tough worth it in the end but my hands hurt

    A great way to upgrade my collection!

    I bought the two limited edition ones to replace some beat-up original shells on some old consoles I had. Both look amazing, though I definitely prefer the spice orange color up close. It would be a great combo with the limited edition orange Gamecube that`s out there.

    Both replacement shells arrived extremely well-packaged and in pristine condition. Definitely plan to keep the boxes—they look really clean and fun and would be great to display alongside the console.

    Great quality. Easy install (be gentle with the screws). Really tempted to get the black cherry one to have as an alternate.

    N64 Console Shell

    I bought a Black Cherry colored Nintendo 64 console shell, and I love it. The color is awesome, the quality of it is awesome. If you`re looking to replace your N64 console shell, I would highly recommend these.

    High quality, with just a small (fixable) problem

    I won`t deny that the shell is probably the highest quality shell on the market right now, and the colors are really fun and reminiscent of the original colors. I got midnight myself and the final product turned out great!!

    The small problem is that the shell exterior screw points were too small for the original and packaged security screws (the 6 screws that fasten the top and bottom of the console together). I`d like to think that this was just an error with the batch mine was in. My solution was to drill holes at the screw points that were slightly bigger so that I could put some plain Phillips machine screws in that I got from Ace Hardware. I supposed you would already be pretty handy if you were to buy this product in this first place, this bit was just extra!

    Got the spice orange version of this shell and the quality is amazing. Even the packaging it came in was nice. Really appreciate that they included both black and orange parts so you can customize to your liking.

    A Stunning Capstone for Any upgraded Build

    As part of my N64 upgrading journey, I picked up the crystal (frosted clear) replacement shell from Trogg Tech's New Funstastic Series—and it absolutely exceeded expectations. My original shell was cracked and worn, and this replacement not only revitalized the look of my console but brought the whole build together beautifully.

    The shell arrived securely packaged and in perfect condition. The translucent finish is gorgeous in person—clean, modern, and nostalgic all at once. Trogg Tech clearly designed this with service techs in mind: it includes pre-marked notches and breakouts for HDMI mods, a location-free cartridge slot (making import games a breeze), and even a selection of case jewels. I opted for the “Ultra 64” logo—an awesome throwback to the system's early development name.

    This shell was the perfect finishing touch for my RGB-upgraded setup and really elevates the whole console. If you're doing a upgrade or just want to breathe new life into an aging N64, this shell is a must-have.

    Great Shell - Uranium

    The shell looks superb. It was easy to install and I loved that it came with different colors for the buttons and cartridge flaps. It came with the special bits that I needed, too, so I was able to install right away. Note you'll still need two different sized Phillips heads (not included but common in most tool kits). Took me less than an hour, and I'm pretty new to this hobby.

    Extreme Green - Perfect!

    I ordered this for my husband's birthday, and it's exactly what he's been looking for! We had a backup console we took the board and jewel logo from, and with the help from Stone Age Gamer's included tools and instructions, he was able to get everything assembled easily. He was very impressed with the quality of everything and how everything he needed was included so he didn't have to order anything extra or go looking through his own tools. A+++ rating from this household!
