Mega EverDrive Pro - I asked CharGPT

Posted by Victor Kroussoratis on May 18th 2023

I asked ChatGPT to give me some `inspiration`

The Mega Everdrive Pro is an absolute game-changer for retro gaming enthusiasts. As a proud owner of this incredible device, I am genuinely impressed by its versatility, performance, and overall user experience.

Enough of that, this device speaks for itself, part Genesis (Mega Drive for us Aussies), part Mega-CD and part 32x. The ability to play and now exposure myself to more classic retro games from the golden age of gaming has genuinely impressed me.

    Upgrade from X7

Posted by Nate on Jan 31st 2023

Made the decision to upgrade to the pro from the X7 and waited until Stone Age had them back in stock. Totally worth the money for the upgrade and the wait for Stone Age`s custom cartridge/packaging style. Coupled with a Mega Sg this has let me get back to a golden era of gaming. Something very simplistic and yet impressive to see what was being done on the Sega CD nearly 30 years ago. A lot of one-off hits that didn`t get pushed into becoming a series of endless unimaginative sequels, and also some high level entries into beloved series. If consider yourself a lover of retro gaming and never got the chance to really explore some of the less commercially successful titles of the time, I highly recommend checking out the Mega EverDrive Pro. Getting it from Stone Age is a plus just because their label/case designs simply make things look cool.

    MEGA EVERDRIVE PRO

This is absolutely a mad lad my guys! Seriously this is absolutely one of the best investments I've ever made. If you have any love for the Master system or Genesis this is exactly what you need. Plus you get 32x and Sega CD. What more could you ask for. From personal use I can say it's super easy to use and straightforward. The hardest part was the CD bios. Literally just put the name of the region in and you don't type ".bin" in the file name. Took me 4 hours to figure that out... Love the label and the color and also Stone age gamer was super awesome about allowing me to buy a clear blue shell to mix and match with the current one. If you get a chance to score one absolutely do it. I finally been able to play pop full mail and lunar on original hardware and I'm so happy. I'm also on my second 20 oz Modelo so I'm just really here to speak how positive this mega everdry pro is. Lol. If you're a Sega Genesis fan like me this is exactly what you want. Have a great day and good luck!!!

    Worth every penny

Posted by Ryan L on Nov 3rd 2021

I really just wanted to play hacks, homebrews, and Sega CD games that I owned without actually having the hardware anymore. This thing does just that and more! I was able to play a few CD games without the crazy load times, I was able to play a few sonic hacks, and some newer homebrew games that just recently came out. I was impressed how easy it was to setup and customize. I also like the sturdiness and build quality of the cartridge itself. Few minor things the cartridge has issues with- some games CANNOT play if they are PAL region and will will have to region mod your Genesis/Mega Drive to get them to play (switch switchless) even if you set the game for a different region. While most Sega Master System games run fine, Game Gear games may not run due to palette related issues. Still - this is a minor setback and I still am going to give this product 5 stars based on how much you get in value.

Mega Everdrive Pro, my first everdrive...

Posted by Luis A. Nazario on Aug 20th 2021

This cartridge is amazing!! I really didn't get into the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive) when I was a kid that much. I ended up getting one late in the generation but didn't get to play most of the library. I was a Nintendo kid (SNES favorite console)!! As an adult with disposable income now I started to collect for a lot of the retro stuff, including the Genesis/MD. Started off getting the games I remembered playing and adding those to my library, like the Phantasy Stars, Aladdin, Gargoyles, etc. and some Sega CD, like Lunar. Went to a friend's house that had a Sega CD and fell in love with Lunar, that game was great. When I found about these carts I was like "this will come in handy!!" Not only do I not have to get up and swap carts or CD's XD, I can minimize the wear and tear on these things, having my library all on one cart. The Mega Everdrive Pro works wonders. It's snappy, the UI is really accessible. The Deluxe Edition comes in a clean box, great for the shelf, and it comes with an instruction manual that has very useful information on getting up and running with this thing. Yeah, I know you can most likely jump online and do some searches and get the same info but having it readily available at my fingertips makes it less of a hassle. The build quality seems great to me, feels like a Genesis/MD cart!! The games play smoothly and sharper than ever. I would definitely recommend one of these if you're into the retro scene or like playing some great classics!!

    True Love

Posted by Sassy on May 14th 2021

First: I wish they offered bigger micro SD cards. To fit complete Genesis/MD, CD, 32X and Master System collections, you're going to need a 128gb.

So far the only roms I've had trouble with are weird, bootleg games from taiwan. Some games load in greyscale, powering the system off and back on seems to fix this.

Save states work well, CD games load perfectly, basically everything is great except the couple things I mentioned. And honestly, it's a cartridge for a 30 year old console that reads SD cards, there's no way it's going to be 100% perfect. Probably my favorite stimmy purchase of all time!
