The best Jaguar games have ever looked

The Jag2HD has been on my wishlist for a while, and it measured up to the hype once I was finally able to get one. Upon receiving it in the mail, I immediately hooked it up to my console and tried out three different games. After solely using Composite on my Jaguar all these years, I was completely floored as to how crisp, clear and incredible everything looked.

Though the description mentions there is lag with HDMI, I didn't notice it at all so it must be minimal if it's there. Overall, this is easily one of the best accessories made for this niche console.

For years I wanted an hd solution for the Jag, as someone who has almost all other consoles hd upgraded, and also I have good upscalers if needed.

But I`ve been on the fence for the longest time, since Jag2hd only outputs 720p and has internal smoothing filter always enabled.

I`ve received my unit today and I`m absolutely satisfied.

First, the smoothing is there, but you won`t ever notice it unless you`re pausing the game and actively looking for it, as in pixelpeeping. Otherwise, it`s a non issue.

And the 720p is also a non issue, because modern tvs can easily take that signal and upscale to 4k without any problems.

It`s sharp, lag free (or very, very low lag), great colors, and as convenient as an internal hdmi upgrade.

For anyone still on the fence, have no worries, this is an awesome hdmi solution!

Nearly perfect HD Jaguar solution

The Jag2HD offers a sleek plug and play design which allows the user to connect to their HD tv devices immediately. This device is essentially hassle free and offers everything but composite out (see the Jag2HD family JagSVC, or JagAIOA Plus for options with that feature.) It does however come with S-Video out as an additional feature. So you will get your money's worth. As this is the HDMI version you should buy this one if you want to connect to a modern TV.

You don't need a scaler with this device either. It naturally handles the video upgrades and aspect ratios you would need by default. The picture will always be old school pixels on screen, but this device offers a clear picture any player of the original Jaguar can appreciate.

This device is compatible with the Jaguar CD and other devices just fine too.

This device does feel more pricy than some plug and play devices for other consoles, but after playing with it installed for a while I don't think I'd go back to playing without it.

I've been wanting this for a very long time but always missed it when it was in stock. I finally got one recently and it was more than worth the wait! It's a dramatic improvement over the Jaguar AV cables and and different world from the RF switch (shudder) that's included with the system. The picture looks great on modern TVs and it's plug and play, so no complicated set up or anything. The only thing I've really noticed is that there seems to be VERY slight lag when using the HDMI. But it's barely noticeable and really shouldn't be an issue to anyone except the most observant players. To sum up this long review, if you own a Jag and want a simple way to play it at the highest quality possible on a modern tv, this is 100% worth every penny!

Crisp, smooth graphics, with amazing build quality ! ! Show your Jaguar some real love and purchase the Jag2HD to get it really pering ! ! The only regret I have about the Jag2HD is that it took me so long to get one.

This is a game changer. The Jag has never looked so good. A must have for any Jaguar fan.
