Posted by Bune Smith on Sep 16th 2024

Great improvement in picture quality on a HD screen over RCA. Lets you switch screen sizes. Comes with extra wire that lets you use both model 1 and 2 Genesis consoles. Has worked great for me since I`ve had it. Highly Recommended.

This thing is awesome! It's a quick, easy, and inexpensive way to get your retro systems to play on modern TV's. The picture quality is vastly improved as well.

I the matching LevelHike cable for all of my retro consoles.

Get one, you'll be amazed and won't regret it!

    My favorite HDMI adapter.

Sega didn't cheap out with the RGB output on the Genesis, and this cable brings out it's absolute best. I use mine with a model 1, but it should work for just about everything with the little adapter it comes with. Genesis games rock, the controller rocks, and this cable rocks.

Great HDMI converter for your Sega Genesis!

Posted by Jose Concepcion on Feb 9th 2021

So I own a model 1 Sega Genesis and I decided to get an HDMI converter cable, since I wanted to play my Sega Genesis games on HDTV. I didn't want to get a clone console and I couldn't hack my Sega Genesis mini, so I bought this. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to play their Sega Genesis console in HD.

A good-enough solution for HDMI connectivity, but there are better options.

Posted by LK on Feb 3rd 2021

Bought this because I wanted to see how it compared to the RetroTink 2X-Mini in terms of inexpensive plug-and-play solutions for the Sega Genesis. First things first, it works; tried it with a Model 2 Genesis and a Nomad, and it displayed an image as expected. The output image is very sharp, so fans of sharp pixels will love this. Audio output is fine as well; the Model 2 and the Nomad both output stereo audio with this. So far, so good, right? Well, compared to the RetroTink 2X-Mini, it falters in a few ways. One, while this is a good-enough plug-and-play solution for those wanting to just play their Genesis games on a modern display, those expecting the most accurate possible experience may want to look elsewhere. Display lag is present on the LevelHike; testing through the Nomad using the 240p Test Suite, display lag is noticeable between the Nomad's display and the output from the LevelHike cable, about 1.5-3 frames difference from what I could see. The colors also seem a little washed out on my display when compared to the RetroTink. Overall, if you're not too fussed about things like lag and color accuracy and just want to play your Genesis on a modern display, this works, especially given the price point. I still would recommend the RetroTink products over this if you can afford it.
