How do I know if I have a 20 or 21 pin Console?

20 pin drives are motherboard revisions VA0, VA0.5, VA0.8, VA1.
Please note some VA1 revisions come with a 21 pin drive instead of a 20 pin drive.
In order to find out if your console has a 20 pin drive without opening it, you can look for a screw at the back, next to the power supply socket.
If you see 3 screws, then it’s a 20 pin VA0. If not, then you need to check that the power and reset buttons are oval in shape and not round.
Another way to check, is to open the CD lid and look towards the back of the cd mechanism, to the gap on its right side.
If you see a white ribbon cable running towards the back, then you have a 20 pin drive.
If none of the above helps, then you most likely have a VA1 console and you need to open it to make sure your drive uses a 20 pin ribbon.

How to update the firmware

Updating your Fenrir Duo's board’s Firmware, is incredibly easy.Tools Required:

  • A microSD card, FAT32 formatted
  • A computer (Windows, OS X or Linux) with a microSD or SD card slot with adapter

2. Open it with Windows Explorer / Finder / File Browser.

3. Drag the “update.bin” file to your SD card.

4. Safely eject the card.

5. Make sure your Sega Saturn is turned off. Insert your microSD card to the Fenrir Duo microSD card slot.

I`ve been waiting for this for years!! I finally had to the money to get it and wow!!! This saved my Saturn`s life the lens I felt was going out and I still wanted to play Saturn games and this was the icing on the cake. I threw everything I had at it and all the games worked flawlessly! The interface is simple and easy to navigate. The loading times are a plus thanks to the SD card. I am very pleased with this and I can`t wait to stream some Saturn classics!!

    The Fenrir Duo

Posted by SAM on Jan 21st 2023

This ODE product is a fantastic means of saving money. Please note that the product does include an additional 20 and 21 pin spare component. The product does require a micro SD card which can be purchased on Stone Age or any other store that sells basic computer supplies that needs to be formatted to exFAT or FAT. The SD official website does offer a free program to easily convert any micro SD card to these formats. For the price, this product functions as expected and is a great deal in general. BIOS files are required to run the files.

    Great purchase

Posted by Mark on Jan 20th 2023

Had to per-order cause these are a little hard to get but was worth the wait. I have the round button Saturn and it was an easy install. Watched a quick Youtube on how to set up the SD card and was good to game. Is great to have all the games on the system and no longer have to get out a big box of games to enjoy the system.
