    Excellent flashcart for Sega enthusiasts

Posted by AJ on Nov 23rd 2021

It’s an Everdrive, and has top tier features as one would expect. Save State in particular is invaluable for a handheld device, as not all games easily allowed to saving where ever and quick resuming your game. Compatibility so far has been perfect as well. The library for Game Gear is a lot smaller than the various Game Boys, but there was a handheld version of almost all of Sega’s great classic franchises worth checking out! Master System games work as well. Great all around and totally worth it for Sega fans. Try to get a recapped Game Gear soon though, Game Gears are a bit of a ticking time bomb and may not be affordable much longer.

    GG X7 is awesome!

Will work linked to another game gear for 2 player. You will need 2 carts like normal. Game genie also works with the GG X7. It’s nice the game gear game genie has an off and on green button. The save state works pretty well. Not all games allow save state but a really good amount do. I’ve tested the GG X7 on modded-JAP and US game gears with no issues. Tested on 2 non modded US game gears with no issue. This is a great product!

    EVERDRIVE-GG X7

Posted by Louis on Jun 7th 2021

I just finished modding my one of my GGs with the new SEGA Game Gear CleanScreen by RetroSix, with a new custom shell and everything. And what is the perfect accessory after all that work? Well, the all new EVERDRIVE-GG X7 of course! I have the old version, but the upgrade is totally worth it for me, and if you are looking for the best GG flash cart on the market, you came to the right place! Not only can you play GG roms (that you own - don't be a bad boy/girl ;), and if you are, shhhh), but also Sega Master System roms, and all the sg-1000 games I tried. The loading time is now so fast, compared to the version before that one, that it is a non-factor. "Instant loading" is right! Everything works as it should, and after my MANY tests and countless hours of playing, I have never encountered ANY issues at all, including all of the many advertised features, as well as the all-important Save States and In-Game menu functions.
The menu is well done, and you can easily organize your games in individual folders (for instance, I have a folder for all of those extremely rare and crazy expensive SHMUPS, and it is so great!). Some have criticized the In-Game menu, but I couldn't honestly find a way make any complaint about it... It is possible that your experience will be different, but in my case, bringing up that very useful In-Game menu never froze my game in the many tests I made. I never saw anyone having any issue with that, but I think it is worth mentioning that I never had any issue either regarding SD cards compatibility. It worked perfectly with all of the SD card of different brands I threw at it.
What else is there to say? It does everything a great flash cart for the GG would have to do in terms of functionality and features, and it does them all perfectly. They listened to the mild criticisms about the older version, and made it into a total winner! And it is on top of the many great extra features. I cannot see anyone else topping this very special flash cart, nor do i think they could make a better PCB version then this particular one (Model 17 Rev. B). So what are you waiting for? You can look anywhere for reviews, and you will find that there is nothing coming even close to it in the market. It is as good as it gets for any kind of users : advanced users will appreciate all the many extra features (for instance, it is an irreplaceable tool for the homebrew I am developing), while the others, that just want to play roms and make save states of their games, will find it is very user-friendly (and don't forget that it comes with an easily apprehensible
and clear printed manual, should you have any issues or questions).
Finally, I think it is just fair to give a shoutout to the team behind that awesome product. Not only do they stand proudly behind their product, with their 2-year warranty but they are available to answer any and all questions you might have.
Don't wait until this product becomes unavailable and have to pay double the price, or more, from scalpers on eBay. Buy it now for their reasonable price, and you won't look back, I can guarantee you that!
    Happy GG gaming guys!

    GG X7

As always, top notch service from Stone Age Gamer! Fast shipping and excellent communication. I always prefer to buy from them rather than Krikzz direct, just in case you run into an issue and need to make a return or exchange. Now onto the GG X7. The flashcart has the usual quality and premium feel as all of the other Everdrives that I have purchased. The X7 is a worthy upgrade over the original as it is instant loading, has save states, better game compatibility, and more energy efficient than its predecessor, which is important as the GG loves to devour batteries.

A must own flash cart for any Game Gear aficionado

Posted by Justin Brinnier on Apr 26th 2021

The Everdrive GG X7 is a solid addition to any game collector's library. The user interface is very clear and simple to navigate. The menu font size is large so even on a stock Game Gear screen it can be read without causing eye strain. The X7's pure speed of navigation and loading games is lightyears beyond the original Everdrive GG. There is absolutely no delay from selecting a game to hearing that iconic Sega scream. Krikzz once again has provided the most convenient solution to gamers who want a top-quality build flash cart. Try out games from other regions, rare/expensive titles and even Sega Master System games. Play Master System on the go without needing to attach the bulky "Gear Master" converter. The in game menu and inclusion of save states make it convenient to jump between games all while not losing your progress. Regardless of if you have a Game Gear LCD display mod or not, you wont regret picking up this blast from the past nostalgia machine from your favorite store for everything retro stoneagegamer.com!

    EVERDRIVE-GG X7

Posted by Winter on Feb 18th 2021

So finally after 5 years of trying to get a mcwill screen modded Game Gear with VGA out and player One controller port, I needed a flash card. I decided to go big and get the X7 for Max compatibility across-the-board features. It's super fast, plays Game Gear, Master System, and most sg-1000 games no problem. Game saves work fine. I will say the in game menu is a little difficult to toggle without crippling the play ability of some games. And rarely toggling the in-game menu will freeze up the System. I find if you boot the game up and turn the system off back on again and play from there you will not encounter that problem anymore. Also I find it weird that the flashcart keeps a record of how many times you turn the system on and off... other than that anyone who loves the Game Gear should buy this. It is absolutely wonderful and I love it!
