if you own the original defender for the PS1/PS2?PS3, you more or less have the same controller, in terms of feel, quality, and design. However, this is catered and targeted for the PS3-- you can wake up the console. motion control six axis is included in thus model, and with pressure sensitive buttons this is basically the perfect OEM replacement which contains all the gimmicks the original controllers have. OEM`s are deteriorating with time, this controllers future proofs the need to have to scourge for working DS3`s. small nitpick i do wish the D-pad had been fixed in this version, as it`s identical to the original defender in terms of flush, but at least the hair triggers have been improved upon and no longer activate at the slightest press. A great worthy controller.
This controller is great solid option as a replacement PS3 controller. It has all the options of a standard controller, and they all work well, such as six axis support, rumble, ability to wirelessly power on the PS3, pressure sensitive buttons. I haven`t tried some of the other functionality such as the turbo functionality. Buttons, d-pad, are sticks are solid and are very nice, and fairly responsive.
Works great even in my kitchen 45ft away, start and select are a bit mushy but that`s just nitpicks.
What really deducts 1* is the turbo feature is broken, it double inputs which for a turn based RPG can cost you a run. Have to unplug and replug it over and over during one fight in Legend of Dragoon when using attack items.
