the Saturn needs more of this

Current-day support like controller manufacture is insanely good to see, and I think Retro-bit does the Saturn proud w/this. It`s as solid as my near-mint originals from pad/button design to durability, and to be honest it`s hard to tell the difference. Bonus--no interference from my Saroo (compared to the wireless variant). Keep this s*** up!

    Great replacement controller!

Posted by Nicolás on May 3rd 2023

Needed a replacement controller since the original ones I have for my saturn are not in their best shape, decided to give this Retro-Bit controller a chance and it didn`t disappoint me at all. Not like the originals but as close as it can get, good product for the price you pay. Recommended!

    Perfect Alternative

Posted by Kevin R. on Apr 23rd 2023

From what I can feel, nearly everything is just as high quality as if the original pad were new! The D-Pad and face buttons all feel just like the original, and the molding is perfect. The shoulder buttons are the only thing that`s different. They aren`t better or worse in my opinion, just different (definetly more audible). The cable is also longer than the original pad. With all this, I`m not sure why anyone would pay more for a used, worn down original controller when these are an option.

Just As Good as the Real Controller

Excellent playing controller that feels almost exactly like a real Saturn controller. The only major difference I noticed when comparing the two is the clicking when you press the L and R buttons isn`t exactly the same but otherwise it`s an excellent way to get a quality Saturn controller.

    A great little controller!

It's been a while since I held an original Saturn controller, but this retro-bit reproduction appears to have similar feel and build quality. The plastic doesn't feel thin, and buttons feel like they should. I felt the d-pad felt sort of mushy, but I remember the original Saturn one did too. So, if you're going for a Saturn contorller with modern construction that isn't used, give this a go.

    Feels authentic

This controller feels great. Very close to the original Japanese controller. I will say that I thought I was buying a USB version of this controller, but that's my fault. It was still fun to use on the Sega Saturn directly. All buttons feel nice and function as they should. The quality is close to 8bitdo, but I still think 8bitdo controllers edge out the Retro-bit controllers. I would buy this over any used official controller (unless pristine), especially for the price.

    Highly recommended!

Having spent the better part of a month using this controller with various games, I can say I agree with all the praise I’ve heard from others about these. Being a long-time Saturn owner but actually never having used the original model that this one is based on (I only ever had the Model 1 Saturn pads and the 3D Controller), I love the way these Retro-bit controller repros feel. The face buttons feel responsive; playing through the first Street Fighter Alpha again with this controller has been a joy, and if I messed up on any inputs, it was more my fault than the controller’s. The L and R shoulders feel maybe a little too soft for my tastes, but they’re not unresponsive, and I’ve gotten used to their feel especially after nearly six hours of Symphony of the Night. The D-pad is floaty but in a good way, if that makes sense? I can reliably pull off standing 360 motions in Capcom fighters with this D-pad. I think it feels comparable to the D-pad on the 3D Control Pad, which, again, having never used the original pads this repro is based on, is my closest frame of reference, and those always felt really solid to me. Overall, I feel comfortable recommending this to both long-time Saturn owners and people just now getting into the Saturn (especially with the advent of ODEs) looking for new controllers for their consoles.

    Near authentic

This is very close to the original. Feels great. Build quality seems good. I think I read that they had access to the original moulds and it shows! I haven't had a chance to really put it to use yet but i'm very optimistic about this product and plan on getting another.
