Hi there. Kris from Stone Age gamer. Here now, the TurboGrafx-16 is a wonderful game platform. It's just not exactly the easiest one to find. And even if you do have the system itself, sometimes a controller can be kind of difficult to get your hands on. Now, that system's overseas counterpart, the PC engine, does not have that problem. In fact, PC engine controllers are considerably easier to source than TurboGrafx-16 ones. Unfortunately, those controllers don't plug into a terrible graphics 16 or least they didn't used to. Now we have this. This is the PCE2TG16 from Retro Frog and this will let you use PC controllers TurboGrafx-16. Let's take a look.

[00:00:44] Well, okay, here we are. This is the PCE2TG16 from Retro Frog. This is a actually a slightly newer version. There was an older version that was a little bit wider. This is nice and compact and it's got this 3D printed shell and it's a pretty straightforward pass through here. So this is an original Turbo Graphics 16 controller that goes with my system here. And you can see the fire, there's the connector and that's where the controller goes up. But a PC engine controller is actually a lot smaller. Say this doesn't plug into this square peg round hole looks at the both rounds, but that's how that works. So what I have here is a turbo duo controller, which is the same shape as a turbo PC engine controller. And this has not totally different situation on the bottom of the thing. And all you do, it really is as simple as it looks. You just kind of take this guy here, plug it right into this controller adapter, and then you take the controller adapter itself, plug it right into your turbo graphics 16 like so and shut up. You are ready to play TurboGrafx-16 games with a PC engine controller or turbo duo controller, if that's what you got with this handy dandy adapter. So let's go see it in action.

[00:01:59] Okay, here is Bonk's adventure that's running on my TurboGrafx-16 down there and I got plugged in. You can see that the PCE2TG16 is plugged right into the controller port and here is my turbo duo controller and we're just going to go ahead and play a little box adventure. Come on, you can do it. Bonk There you go, buddy. And he's going to get angry and run it. While he's not going to run away, he's going to fall down. That's right. All right. So here we are in box adventure. You can see the buttons, do exactly what they're supposed to do, bonk and jump. And, you know, the turbo function works just just fine, just the way it's supposed to. And yeah, that's really all there is to it. It's just plug and play situation there. You want to use a Turbo Graphics, a turbo duo or PC engine controller on your Turbo Graphics 16. This does the trick. Just like that.
