These controller are spot on to the originals. I have good condition originals and prefer to use these. I have had bad luck with the cordless versions but not with the corded 9 pins or usb versions (Saturn or Genesis). Retrobit will replace them but if for any reason you have an issue I`d recommend contacting this seller first
as they appear to be very reputable.
I can`t speed to the longevity of this controller, but I have nothing but good thoughts about it so far. Buttons feel stock, cable is long, d-pad feels Sega-made. If you want a Genesis 6-button controller, this is a great choice.
I didn`t have a 6 button controller. I did not want a 3rd party controller so I was excited to see this as an option. Now they did not have black in stock which I would have preferred but the teal color isn`t too bad. So far it has been a great controller could wait to play street fighter 2 with 6 buttons and xeno crisis. The cable is so long too big thumbs up.
I got two of these and they both have the same problem - start button only works when it wants to and the C button doesn`t seem to work at all in the normal 6 button mode. 3 button mode seems fine but how often will you ever use it that way? Absolute junk. These were to be used primarily for played Mortal Kombat and they simply aren`t usuable for that. I eventually just found some original MK-1653`s in good shape and stick with those.

So I purchased a controller with my Everdrive Pro (which I love) here on Stone Age Gamer - arrived relatively quickly. After getting the controller and trying it out on my Genesis/Mega Drive, The directional pad was operating in reverse. the Start and C button were also hooked up in reverse. The right directional button was stuck. There was a notice in the box that said "if you have a problem, contact us - retroBit" Which I did- and they sent me another controller in the mail whereas I sent the original one back to them. Only issue is after a few weeks - the second controller broke (c button stopped working) Now I tried this with 6-button games - Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, etc. It wasn't a game incompatibility issue. I will say RetroBit is a great company to having pro-active support, but I do not like this controller because I think it is built with faults.
Controller is great, excellent D Pad, really happy with it. Awesome that's it's officially licensed too. I only had the 3 button controller back in the day so I can't say for sure whether or not this one is perfectly accurate but I bet it's pretty close.
It's nice to have officially licensed products. But for a bit less money you get the Hyperkin Gen6 and it's just as good. I own both and they are equally good.
I purchased two of these to replace the original ones that are used and abused on my Sega Genesis console. These feel rock solid and work extremely well. Money well spent.
