    Great 3rd party controller

Posted by Jared A Nicholson on Oct 2nd 2022

I bought this controller for my son as I knew he would be a little more aggressive with this than I would. Needless to say it has held up to his play style. As a lifelong gamer who has used many different controllers from OEM to the third party controllers, Old Skool definitely has quality in the work that they do.

Great budget option compared to OEM

The controller works great, buttons do have an aftermarket feel compared to OEM, but for the price you cant go wrong.

    Excellent controller

    Posted by BigPep243 on Sep 28th 2021

I recently purchased a Gamecube with no controllers and this was the controller I went with. This controller has the same stock feel with no wireless capabilities. If your TV is far away from your couch I suggest you pair this up with an extension cable. But, this controller feels good in the hands, the rumble works, and I have no issues with it. If you are looking for an alternative to OEM controllers with an OEM feel you have came to the right place.

    Review from Z

I ordered three of these, and all three worked fine which was surprising considering the quality control issues that are typical with knock offs.

The pad on the control stick doesn't grip your skin very well which is slightly annoying, but ultimately not a huge issue.

The spring in the L/R buttons are far stronger than the original gamecube controllers which is also slightly irritating, but again ultimately not a huge issue.

The Z button is far more rigid than the original gamecube controller which, yet again, is ultimately not a huge issue.

The octagonal pattern around the control stick and C-stick is actually positioned in the proper orientation, which I've had issues with with other 3rd party gamecube controllers.

Overall it's a solid product, but not perfect. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a gamecube controller who doesn't want to drop fifty something dollars on a new authentic one.
