Extra AV Out for OSSC Pro (Open Source Scan Converter) v1.2
Easily use your OSSC Pro with your classic VGA monitor or CRT television* with the Extra AV Out expansion card. Fantastic for users who want to experiment with down-scaling
or converting modern games for use on classic CRT displays. The card plugs into the side of the OSSC Pro and gives the device the following additional outputs:
- 1 x D-Sub 15 (VGA) output (15khz and 31khz output supported, up to 1080p)
- 1 x 3.5mm audio output (see the table below for compatibility information)
- 1 x SPDIF/digital audio output (see the table below for compatibility information)
* Connection to CRT televisions may require additional hardware to convert to SCART or component video. A specially designed AV adapter to allow easy connection to SCART
televisions is possible. A case/enclosure for the expansion card is also planned.
While using the Extra AV Out card, the original digital video output on the OSSC Pro remains active at all times and can be used to feed a secondary display or monitor.
Please note that the video signal from both the analogue and digital outputs will be the same resolution and refresh rate, it is not currently possible to send a different signal to each output.
RGB video output quality from the board is excellent and, unlike many affordable DAC (digital to analogue converters) on the market, consistently excellent too.
The connectors on the extra AV out board are output only, they cannot be used as additional inputs.
The table below has details of the currently supported audio formats for the Extra AV Out board (correct as of firmware 0.74).
