Much better than the X3, much cheaper than the X7

Posted by Radosław Łukasik on Apr 11th 2022

A great, very high-quality product. I think the Everdrive GB X5 is a good compromise between the more expensive X7 and the less advanced X3. If you don't need savestates then I see no reason to pay extra for the X7. An additional advantage is the very low power consumption compared to the X3, not much more than when using the original cartridges. This is especially important if you are using Gameboy Pocket. I recommend it, I do not see any disadvantages of this cartridge!

    Fantastic Product!

Simply put, the GB X5 is a fantastic product. I received the cartridge in just a few days, and within minutes of getting it, popped my SD card in and was playing games on my Analogue Pocket. Buying a GB X5 is an easy recommendation to make.

    Works pretty well

The UI gets the job done but I wish you could sort games. My biggest complaint is that it does have higher power draw than a real card. Paired with an IPS screen this absolutely devours the battery on a gameboy pocket.

    Exactly what I wanted

    Posted by TeknoDaddy69 on Dec 31st 2021

Ran most if not all GB and GBC fan translations on real hardware correctly. Was so good being able to fire up games I saw as a kid but could never play due to language barrier. Highly Recommend!

    GB Everdrive Cart

Posted by Scott V on Dec 16th 2021

Very powerful and easy to use multi-cart. After some initial setup (read the instructions) this device is super easy to use. Love the GameGenie code entry option as these old games were challenging!

This device is great, it only takes a couple of minutes to add your roms to the SD card and insert it to the everdrive and you will be instantly playing your favorite games, it is so simple to use, and it is a high quality product.
    This is a great device!

    A must have!

This is an awesome unit. I have tried it on an original gameboy, a gameboy pocket, gameboy color, gameboy advance and gameboy advance sp and it works flawlessly on all of them. It lets me have all my games in one unit which is nice as I don't want to keep plug in and unplugging those old cartridges which are already pretty old. Put your ROM's on an sd card, plug it into the unit and off you go. Notice that this will only play gameboy and gameboy color ROM's. It will NOT play gameboy advance ROM's. You will need to buy the Everdrive for the Advance to play those ROM's. This unit has a great feature to get back into the main menu. Instead of having a special button combination to remember (which might also not work depending on the game), you simply slightly squeeze the top of the cartridge slightly. There is a switch inside that sends you back to the main menu. Very cool and easy to use. Plays all the ROM's I could throw at it without any problems and I put a LOT of them on the unit (over 3000). Highly recommend picking one up if you into playing on original gameboy hardware. Yes you can buy a one of those newer handheld consoles that let you play all the different machines in one, but there is nothing quite like playing on the original hardware. Upgrade that gameboy with an IPS screen, and it makes it even more awesome.

    Easy!

Posted by Unknown on Nov 6th 2020

This is a VERY simple GB/GBC flash cart. The cartridge build quality is great and feels just as good, if not better, than a normal Game Boy Color game cartridge. It fit cleanly into my GBC and GB Pocket. The micro-SD card sticks out a bit at the top but it's not intrusive at all and I've never accidentally removed the card. The OS built in is easy to use and I've had no problems with it. File management is also very simple- just put your roms and folders into the root folder of the micro SD. Money very well spent.
