This is a great all in one cable for connecting your Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, and Nintendo GameCube to your modern 4K TV. Switching between systems is easy peasy, with wonderful picture and sound quality. 10*s!!

    LevelHike 3-in-1 on the SNES

Posted by Arturo Hernandez on Jan 10th 2023

Used on an SNES from 1992 (SNS-CPU-GPM-02). The LevelHike HDMI converted/Adapter has been working like a charm for my old, aging SNES. I`ve yet to experience any issues and it`s been months of use with this device.

The only con I can think of the top of my head is that the video feed can shimmer at times, but it hardly detracts from the experience of being able to experience these old Classic games on moder TV displays.

The colors are vivid, vibrant, maybe a little bit warmer than on Composite. The pixels are sharp and crisp. The audio is about what one would expect from the games themselves. Nothing groundbreaking there as it was already good on the stock Composite audio.

If anything, given that my model is an early, pre 1CHIP revision, any composite video artifacting (blurriness, vertical bands, checkerboard patterns) are effectively removed by the LevelHike.

I am very, very satisfied with my purchase.

I would recommend either this or the SNES exclusive model if you have the cash to spare to make your gameplay experiece that much better. Other aftermarket adapters don`t compare.

Note that the included USB cable is not required to play on the SNES. The SNES (All models up to the las 1CHIP before the SNES mini/jr.) supplies the adapter with 5 volts from the get go since its Multi AV out port has a 5v line baseline.

You may require the extra power supply if you plan on using it on your N64/GameCube.

    LevelHike HD Adapter

Posted by Scott Bloom on Oct 17th 2022

Easiest way to connect retro systems to modern televisions, as well as capture devices. The only flaw I noticed is that when you change aspect ratios, you'll need to unplug the USB power cable and plug it back in to refresh audio.

That being said, I'm definitely going to get adapters for my other retro systems.

    Amazing Cables for SNES

Posted by Francisco on Mar 7th 2022

I'm in love with this cables. For the price are a great option to have an excellent way to connect to a modern tv; in my case a samsung 4k tv and looks so beautiful. Any input lag on my tv all works like on the older days. It's easy to use and with the same cable you can connect your GC and N64 too!! that's great for the same price. I'm very good inform about other "Pixel Purist" options with maybe better results but to expensive for my wallet, but if you are on the side of easy to use and quality/price budget, this cable is for you. About Stone Age gamer a great customer experience shopping here, I'm totally will shop more retro things in the future.

    Great product!

This product works as it should. I didn't experience any noticeable lag. It was easy to hook up and play. The only con I had is that occasionally the sound will not be present. However, a simple unplugging of the HDMI correct that problem. Other than that I still highly recommend this product.

I'd give this a "meh" overall rating for what it's worth in both quality and cost.

This is something that is pretty much one of the cheaper options for a straight forward HDMI adapter for your multi-out Nintendo console. Currently, I only have a Super Nintendo (an SNS-CPU-GPM-02 motherboard revision) that I can test this cable on, so I can't say anything else about the N64 or the GameCube. This is overall decent to use at best. I really like that there's a 4:3 switch on it as well, something that isn't really present on a few of these types of cables. I personally don't like playing games on 16:9 for something that is meant to be 4:3. The overall picture is better to see compared to the original RCA cables as this converts S-Video.

There are three caveats that I have on this HDMI adapter compared the the original RCA cable my SNES came with:

    1. It looks like I'm looking through a very faint window screen on my screen that was installed diagonally! For me this isn't too much of a big deal as, to me, it looks like it has that CRT television lookalike when playing on my HD TV and monitor, but for people that seek an HDMI adapter that is more on the quality side and lower cost, with no unintentional filter on it (meaning it has the pixels visible with no "window screen" thing on it), I would say this would be a turn off since the original RCA cables don't have that window screen look on it.

    2. Audio output is QUIET. With the current setup I have for playing my SNES, I'd have to crank up my volume quite a bit higher just to make the volume audible to play on. This doesn't happen when I use the original RCA cable on my HD TV.

    3. This one is small, but plugging this into my monitor with the USB cable plugged into the adapter makes it turned on constantly instead of shutting off the video signal when it is not in use. My monitor shuts off automatically when there is no video signal, but this one has its own "No Signal" display when it's plugged in with the USB cable, so even though when my SNES is not in use, my monitor would stay on because of it. As a result, I don't use the USB cable it came with since you can use it without the USB cable, even though the people who made this recommends plugging it in for longevity.

Do I recommend this overall? I'd say meh. To say that I am dissatisfied at this would be completely false, however. There are much, much, better quality multi-out HDMI cables out there if you *really* care about quality, such as the RAD2X (although those won't be available until next year, oof). However, I mentioned that I have an SNS-GPU-GPM-02 revision for my SNES, so take my opinion with a grain of salt if you have a different SNES such as a 1-CHIP revision, as you may or may not have a different picture than I do. Overall, this is an okay converter that bridges between quality and cost. If I can give this half-ratings, this would be 3.5/5 stars.

Very convenient cables, a great mix of quality and value.

Posted by Daniel Goodine on Oct 23rd 2020

I have extensively tested these cables and I can say that they are not bad at all! For the money, these are probably the best upscaler-like cables I have tried. They even have a 4:3 - 16:9 switch, something I find VERY necessary. (No one I know ever wants to play a stretched out game.) One of the main things I like about this cable besides the the price to quality ratio is that it doesn't blank out for a second when a game switches resolutions, something that bothered me greatly since my main setup has an XRGB Mini. And sure, they video quality isn't as good as a frameister, but if it means I don't have to lug that around to a friends house to play on his TV, I think its worth the hit in quality. Anyways, I would recommend this cable to anyone that wants their console displayed on a TV on the cheap.
