Super Lube 82340 Multi Purpose Synthetic Grease works great on original or replacement N64 gears.
This small 1ML tube is enough to lubricate 10-20 gear sets when used sparingly. (you might even stretch it further, as you really only need to lubricate the mouth of the gears where the joystick moves in them).
Only time will tell how well this actually works, but it was certainly enough. I did 3 controllers at once and still have some leftover. I still don`t anticipate playing the OG Mario Party on console these days, but I`m hopeful that this will make the new stick parts I ordered last longer than the original parts did. For 3 bucks, why not??
I had no issues using this on my N64 joystick gears. And the description is not wrong - a little goes a long way! Being able to purchase such a small tube is really convenient. My only complaint is that there is no way to re-seal the tube to save for future use.

This does the job really well! I`ve been using Joystick Butter for a while and decided to try this. I think this is just as good and for a fraction of the price. I recommend adding this to a syringe and apply with that. A pack got me about 1mL into my syringe, which can lubricate at least 10 joysticks.
The grease seems to be doing its job keeping the analog stick moving smoothly. The tube comes with plenty of grease at least enough to do two or so controllers. Overall it is a great add-on purchase if you are getting replacement gears for your N64 controller.
