I have been playing Game Boy games since the unit first came out in the the 80s, no emulation can quite compare to the feel of playing your original carts on the original system. I have been wanting to retire my carts since many of them are now well over 20 years old, so I gave this guy a shot. I have to say, I cant tell the difference between the original cart and the port of the cart to this system. Save states work amazing, the RTC works perfectly with Pokemon, and the unit works amazing on the new Analogue Pocket system. solid 10/10!
Play your gb and gbc games flawlessly. Works great easy to setup. You press on the cartridge it self to activate a button that resets the card. I highly recommend this product.
Great product that works like a charm. Setup is easy and the improvements over the older models are great. Plus it really saves me from having to constantly pull my old carts out to play.
I don't leave home without it!
This is a fantastic product. I wasn't sure how well the save states were going to work, but they're great. You can only have one, but it's well worth it. Most of the time I don't need more than one anyway. Krikzz makes the best flash carts for every system and Stone Age Gamer is the best place to buy them!
I bought this particular everdrive for a friend on his birthday. He absolutely loves it, just like I love my other everdrives I've purchased from Stone Age Gamer. The deluxe version is a nice touch with the case. My friend tells me he's been playing tons of games on his game boy color that I modded for him a couple years back. The ship time was so fast, and arrived much earlier than expected. Thanks Stone Age Gamer!
It's the best flash cart available for the GB & GBC. Stone Age Gamer offers a better presentation (shell / label) and faster shipping than ordering directly from the creator, so buy it, or not. Doesn't matter to me, I'm a stranger on the internet.
Before I bought this, I tried to save money and be happy with the EZ-Flash Jr. But I wasn't, for a few reasons.
The first was that my screen-modded Gameboy Pocket couldn't handle the extra pull on the battery. Turns out this can't either, but there are two potential solves. You can upgrade the GBP to regulate the power draw better, or you can use Lithium batteries that are a bit better quality than what I was using before. The second is the save-state feature. Always a handy thing for playing games in smaller spurts, which is what the Gameboy is all about.
Third, this is ultimately the best way to play your original GB/GBC games. Eventually the batteries will die in your carts and you're left either trying to open them up and replace the battery, or using this. This is the easier and safer route.
As always, Stone Age Gamer does an excellent job with packaging and it looks fantastic.
Hard to describe what I like best about this product. The actual physical product is impressive, really nice shell and label. The software itself is simple and easy to use. There's a pretty solid community Ever Drive users out there that likely already have answers if you do run into issues as well.
