You understand that in order for PSIO to work with a playstation console, a Switch Board needs to be installed on that console (this bundle has the switch board pre-installed). Please also note that PSIO will not work on systems without a “Parallel I/O” port.

This is a new product intended to be used on electronic hardware that exceeds two decades in age and Stone Age Gamer can’t guarantee the condition of such hardware. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

D) MODIFICATION & USE – Any unauthorized modification and/or non-intended use of this or any other flash cart product sold by Stone Age Gamer shall void both manufacturer and retailer warranties of that product.

E) CLONE / MODIFIED CONSOLES – Flash carts were developed and intended to be used on un-modified original hardware using original hardware accessories. Stone Age Gamer does not guarantee flash cart operation on clone consoles or modified consoles. Flash carts may operate on some clone consoles or modified consoles. However, due to power consumption changes, random hardware changes and/or firmware updates of those consoles we cannot offer a guarantee of flash cart compatibility. Any returns due to incompatibility with clone consoles or modified consoles will result in no refund of any shipping costs and a 10% restocking fee if no defect is found during testing.

Great option for OG Playstation enthusiasts

The PSIO is a “flash cart” for the OG Playstation that essentially acts as an ODE while still retaining the original disc drive of the console. If you’re keen on using real discs alongside disc images from the PSIO then this is especially handy. I purchased a pre-modded PS1 from Stone Age Gamer and it’s been working great - although be aware that there’s no guarantee that the disc drive will work with a pre-modded systems in “fair” condition, so if that’s important to you then be sure to opt for one advertised in “good” condition instead.

Only con I can think of off the top of my head on the PSIO side of things is the weird DRM hurdle you`ll have to jump whenever you want to update your firmware (you have to provide your serial + some other info on the PSIO site). Other than that it’s a great piece of kit - loading games from the SD card is a breeze and everything I’ve tried so far has worked perfectly!
