A great way to get into Evercade

Posted by Sean S on Apr 2nd 2024

I will note that I won one of these in a drawing, but I had been very interested in one before hand. But if you are looking to get into Evercade, this is a really good entry point at a decent price. The device is admittedly smaller than I expected, but it feels good in your hands. The sound is amazing on this little device and very impressive coming from the tiny speaker. The controls are good, but I did have some issues with the shooters moving in diagonals with the dpad. Also the shoulder buttons on the back take some getting use to, but only two games take advantage of the rear buttons. It has a really great collection of Capcom games, but given that Mega Man is the only one that isn`t an arcade game, it does feel out of place amongst the others. I am already looking into other Evercade cartridges to add to the collection now that I have had an opportunity to check out the quality of the equipment. Very happy to start adding these to my collection.
