Item Description:
The Retro Duo Video Game System has separate circuitry and card slots for both hardware NES and Super Nintendo Entertainment System, allowing it to play games for both consoles. It features a single-pole, double-throw power switch with open position; the switch can be thrown to 8-Bit (NES) or 16-Bit (SNES), or opened to Off.
The Retro Duo console uses Super Nintendo compatible controllers and devices such as the Super Scope, but cannot use Nintendo compatible controllers and devices such as the NES Zapper peripheral for Duck Hunt. The Super Nintendo controller buttons otherwise map to the NES controller inputs.
The Retro Duo connects through an composite AV RCA/S-video cable, and can be hooked into a surround sound system. When using stereo and surround output from these systems, NES sounds and music may seem very different from their typical mono output. Using output modes that properly generate mono sound, either through a single center speaker or cloned to multiple speakers, the sound output sounds mostly identical to the original NES.
Now you can enjoy both the NES and the Super NES retro games without looking to replace both of your broken gaming systems. The Retro Duo Video Game System is fully compatible with the FC Super Pad Controller
Features:
- Supports 8-Bit NES/Famicom & 16-Bit SNES/Super Famicom games
- S-video Compatiable*
- Easy function switch to choose system modes
- Compatible with SNES controllers
- Includes 2 controllers, AV cable, and AC Adapter
What Comes Packed in:
- Retro Duo Console
- 2 Controllers
- AV Cable
- AC Adaptor
*S-video only works correctly on SNES/Super Famicom games.

Bought it a few months ago from here.
I haven't had any playability issues with it at all as far as compatibility, though I have noticed poor sound on NES Mario games (sound on Tetris games is perfect, the problem could be my carts.). I had Mario 3 playing for about 6 hours straight on it (I didn't play that long, I took breaks and left it paused). It was kicked across the floor a few times by my dog, no resets and best of all NO Flashing GSOD!!!! (Gray Screen Of Death). The controllers are quite nice. The plastic feels cheap and lightweight, but the responsiveness surprises me, they work better that some of my original SNES controllers, the biggest issues is the shorter cords...
On the SNES side, I was a little surprised to see that it has no issues with the Super GameBoy (I've payed Pokemon Blue, and Yellow in it, also while using a Pelican Accessories Monster Brain). Earthbound also works perfectly.
Uses less electricity than a real NES or SNES, so will save you a tiny amount on your electric bill, lol.

Personally I love this system! I already have a NES and a SNES, but bought this for a different room in the house...At any rate, it is awesome, but 2 things may be worth mentioning. For one thing Only SNES games will output S-Video, and the other post is right; It does NOT play Famicom games. However it DOES play Super Famicom games (which are better anyway)...

The add states "..., Famicom (**requires 60-pin to 72-pin converter)." I don't know what that means, but that may help you. I'm not concerned, I'm only buying for the NES and SNES functions.
