Game description:
Ever wanted to be a "Kop"? Keystone Kapers gives you a chance at just that, putting you in control of Officer Kelly who is in hot pursuit of Harry Hooligan in this fun platform game from Activision. It will not be an easy quest as department store hazards like fast moving shopping carts, biplanes, cathedral radios and beachballs will attempt to hinder your progress as you try to catch up with the krook. A level ends after you catch the krook, and as you progress further it gets harder to keep up with him. You also have a time limit in which to catch the krook and colliding with obstacles will dock nine seconds from your time limit! Run into the biplanes or run out of time and you will loose one of your kops!
The graphics in Keystone Kapers are colorful and fluid and the sounds are decent enough to get along. Pressing the button causes your character to jump, and the controls handle well for this type of game. If you broke 35,000 points in the game you could become part of The "Billy Club" and you would receive a cool Billy Club patch for sending in a picture of your score. As with other Activision manuals, the Keystone Kapers manual provides interesting details on the history of policeman and offers gameplay tips from game designer Garry Kitchen.

For one Crimebuster at a time.
"Flash! Harry Hooligan, notorious con-artist, thief and all-around-not-a-nice-person, has escaped!! He is now at large and in the vicinity of South wick's Emporium. At this moment, Hooligan is foiling every attempt to end his felonious freedom.
"On the scene is Keystone Kelly, the pride of the men in blue. Officer Kelly, what’s it like in there?"
Oh, 'tis a cryin' shame! Shenanigans like the ya wouldn't believe! Dastardly deed that defy description! That rogue is hurlin' everything in reach! Shopping carts, biplanes, beachballs - everything but the cathedral radios. LOOK OUT! It's a cathedral radio!! Gotta go! I mean to recover the loot and bust that brute!"
"Will that double-dyed hoodlum keep Keystone in triple trouble, or will YOU help the greatest gumshoe going catch that no good galoot?? Grab your billyclubs and joysticks! It's curtains now, Hooligan!"
